Apparently only if we all agree it happened can it be discussed in that Florida school.

To get back to the op, the principal wasn’t going for historical accuracy. He claimed that since some parents don’t believe the holocaust occurred, the school couldn’t teach it as fact. That’s an absurd position for the obvious anti Semite to take.

Sounds par for the course in public school. Is this not the reason God isn't supposed to be covered in school?

Another way to cover it is how do you teach a subject where the history books have no consistency? Which version of events do you teach kids? I think the principal may have good reasons to not touch such a subject in a public school.

Well then he should present it. The “not everyone thinks the holocaust happened” isn’t a good reason. People might debate numbers, only an anti Semite nutcase would deny an atrocity occurred that involved the systematic murder of jewish people by the Nazis.

George Lincoln Rockwell (March 9, 1918 – August 25, 1967) was an American politician and neo-Nazi. In 1959, he was discharged from the United States Navy because of his political views and founded the American Nazi Party.

Rockwell denied The Holocaust and believed that Martin Luther King Jr. was a tool for Jewish communists wanting to rule the white community. He blamed the civil rights movement on the Jews.[1] He regarded Hitler as "the White savior of the twentieth century".[1] He regarded blacks as a "primitive, lethargic race who desired only simple pleasures and a life of irresponsibility" and supported the resettlement of all American Negroes in a new African state to be funded by the U.S. government.[1] As a supporter of racial segregation, he agreed with and quoted many leaders of the Black nationalism movement such as Elijah Muhammad and Malcolm X.[2] In later years, Rockwell became increasingly aligned with other neo-Nazi groups, leading the World Union of National Socialists.

Honestly seems a bit misleading. He didn’t say that he personally can’t say it is factual or doesn’t believe it is factual, but that some people say it isn’t, meaning he has to deal with those nutcase parents as well.

This will become more of an issue as congresswoman ilhan omar is allowed to push her anti semitic agenda that is supported by the Democratic Party.

As a half Jew this whole conversation of the holocaust always makes me uncomfortable. Theres so much misinformation and too many sinister people telling lies and trying to profit from the tragedy. Also, I don’t like and I don’t understand how we aren’t even allowed to call into question the things that happened. We can question and deny Gods existence all day, but God forbid we call to question any account of the Holocaust. The liars and the profiteers most certainly need to be questioned. It’s disrespectful to the victims if they are not.

It’s important to fully understand our history so we don’t repeat it. According to our records most Jews were being relocated. They weren’t being exterminated. Hitler wanted us out of his country, who cares why, doesn’t matter, but they were held at camps as they processed and documented belongings and confiscated everything families had.

Ive read the diaries and heard the stories about the camps we were held at. They were like little towns, they had a swimming pool, schools, a theatre, grocery, it was shite and it wasn’t freedom, but it wasn’t some hell on earth. Unfortunately, the Nazis were stupid and didn’t think things out and when they started to lose the war supplies were pulled and they left the camps with no food or supplies. Diseases ran through the camps and most people died as a result. Also, stop the bullsh*t about Catholics being imprisoned. Nazi Germany was a Catholic state. Only people that were anti-nazi or Jew were imprisoned according to our records and diaries. If there were Catholics or other people it was because they anti-nazi. Do you really think Hitler would go imprisioning Catholics because of their religion when one of his biggest and only ally was Italy?

This poor principal should not have lost his job over. He’s exercising his first amendment right and we should respect that.

I am very concerned about this. It's incredibly important that everyone agree on the 6 million. It's perhaps the single most important issue in America today.

You may claim to be a half-Jew but you better go back and revisit that half of your history.

I, too, am a half Jew and I have no idea what you're smokin' to come up with those cutsie stories. Ever heard of pogroms, amigo? Ever heard of people branded like cattle? Ever heard of gold teeth pulled from recently-gassed corpses? Yeah, sounds like Oz don't it?

And try reading a real history book that accounts for all of the races, ethnicities and orientations that were killed. Priests, nuns, rabbis, gays, etc. Of course, there are plenty of so-called Jews who are also deniers, so your rant doesn't surprise me one iota.

None of those were death camps

Does it matter? The only difference between concentration camps and death camps was that in death camps the prisoners were killed far more quickly while in concentration camps they died of starvation, disease, etc.

Seriously, if you're hanging a conspiratorial hat on such an ethically minor difference then you've pretty much lost your credibility.

To the actual topic, the now-former principal wasn't reluctant to admit such a minor fact, he was reluctant to admit any of it (the Holocaust) happened. The reason this is so important is because not only was it a massive and egregious evil but one that was also meticulously cataloged by the Nazi regime yet people still try to deny it.

The Holocaust is the best-documented case of wide-scale attempt at genocide in human history yet people will still try to find a way to justify their denial that it even happened. If people can deny something backed by so much evidence (video, Nazi documentation, the actual bodies), they'll be willing to deny anything (and others will take their denial as truth). It's no different an attempt to re-write history than what Orwell depicted in 1984 and may even be worse because it's not fiction.

This is the problem. History books don't agree on the details. Which history book do you believe? The one that reaffirms existing beliefs? When people can't question something and everything becomes emotional, it is clear to me the subject needs to be investigated further.

Historical census data should really make people realize something is wrong with the history books. It is ok to question it. It doesn't make anyone bigoted or anti sematic.

Do you believe this is the stand the principal takes on history in general or just the ideas he hears down at the mosque?
