The president is elected by the states not the people.
That is one of the powers that the states gave up to join the union.

Eliminating the EC would allow a huge operation to farm votes in all big cities. No longer do then need to farm votes in a few battleground states. They can use their already in place system in the major cities.

Winner take all laws do, on a lesser scale, exactly what the national popular vote would do.
They subvert the votes of regional areas in favor to the areas of high population concentration. Regions have different problems and need different solutions.

Can you show me the federal government agency tasked with tabulating the national popular vote? Or where that official statistic is kept? Or is it just a media creation of the 50 individual votes that happen in the 50 states, thus following the electoral college.
No president has ever lost the popular vote of a state and received those electoral college votes, therefore no president elect has ever lost a popular vote. It is literally impossible to have happen.
And finally people dont elect the president, the states do. Once you accept that truth you can see just how stupid this argument is.
