This is blatantly AI. Are you just taking posts from people refuting you and getting AI to spit out retorts?
I think that exactly what you’re doing and it’s fricking embarrassing

Eliminating the Electoral College would make the U.S. president elected solely by the national popular vote rather than by a majority of state-based electors.
Did you not watch Hunger Games?

You want L.A., NYC, and chicago to dictate how the US works?
He does.
Because he’s a democrat.
Which in 2026 means he’s pro socialism.

Missing 1992. Clinton only won 40% of the popular vote. Thanks you Perot.

The Electoral College offers some protection to smaller states from the corrupt 800 pound gorillas.

If I’m Rhode Island, or Delaware, or Mississippi, or Arkansas, etc, that says my time in this union is over.

It would lead to even more election fraud in California, Illinois and New York.

No.
It was debated at the time but ultimately the Electoral College was established by the founders to prevent small populated states from being continually over ran and over ruled by the larger populated states.
Representative Republic - not “pure democracy” which would lend itself to mob rule.
Just no.

Recounts in a tight race would be impossible. With the EC you can narrow down to county level recounts.
The smaller states would secede. (Why would the small states agree to be permanently governed by NY/LA)
My rights to my one vote would be completely negated by whatever bullshite voting laws Newsome puts into place in California-even tho I’m in Texas
We are a nation of individual states with unique needs. Imagine the impact on Texas economy if hippies in Cali decided to end drilling..

No.
A shortsighted Pro is really a Con.
So no, only Cons

Winner-take-all allocation of electors—adopted by most states and changeable by them without altering the Constitution—does amplify divergences between the national popular vote and Electoral College outcomes, even as the underlying system remains grounded in state-based electors.
Starting a thread with AI and replying with only AI generated comments should lead to a ban, unless this board wants to become just another part of the dead internet.

Until we have secure elections it doesn’t really matter.

There are no Pro’s to eliminating the electoral college. You can’t let New York and California dictate who the president will be

It would effectively cause Presidents to GAF about NYC LA Houston and Chicago and that's about it.
As opposed to the current model where only a dozen at most swing states matter

In a very bizarre way, that's actually kind of impressive.
EDIT -UPDATE - 0/156
That takes some real skill right there.
