At least EC always ensures that a president is elected with majority.

Here would be my Great Compromise on the Electoral College.

Top vote getter on the state level wins 2 Electoral Votes, Each Congressional district win gets an additional Electoral Vote.

So in a state like Louisiana. Trump would have won 7 of the state’s electoral votes. One vote would have gone to Harris since it more than likely went Dem.

The system derives authority from the people, selects officials through elections, rejects hereditary rule, and limits government through a written constitution. That makes it democratic, republican, and constitutional. Those descriptions are complementary, not contradictory.
