Correct - I have the exact same skills as everyone on this site.
I use the exact same logic when i read the bible as when i read the NYT.
Who wrote this? Who influenced them? What was the motivation?
I see the influence of the Jesus story from previous religious text of that era and how 2000 years of using the narrative for wealth and control. That's why the text of the bible has been rewritten thousands of times by various religious groups who cannot agree on what it says.
Some say Jesus was 2 some say 5 some say we went to India, some say he went to England, most agree there is no definitive recording of his childhood at all.
People who hammer the specifics of the text as FACT use that as a scapegoat to avoid deep theological discussion.

What happened 2000 ago has no bearing on today. People who were conquered 2000 years ago were conquered because they could not stop it. That is the way the world has always worked.
Now invading hordes are attacking the self-destructive tendencies of white leftists. the diseased portion of white people may allow their countries to be conquered and the rest of us may be able to do nothing about it.

Christianity stopped forced conversions centuries ago, Islam still, to this day, forces people to convert.

Except it did not happen that way. Was there internecine violence between different Christian sects in the 300s and 400s.....there were. But wholesale violence and forced conversion? Ehhhhh most of Egypt was Christian by the time of Theodosius. Most of the leading Church fathers at the time were out of Egypt as well as the leading heretics like Arias. There were the Desert Fathers like St. Anthony and there were guys like Athanasius and Cyril....just to mention a few.
Egypt was more of a driving force to legitimacy of Christianity than anything men like Iraneus of Lyon had done in the early 3rd century.....and he was very influential. When your second largest city is also a plurality Christian and your name is Constantine and you are trying to legitimate and consolidate your power, you make sure you have the people there happy.
