re: Don Jr: "the Iran war is what caused this, we campaigned on not getting into these things"

A lot of people don’t want to admit this. The exit polling overwhelmingly says this though.
If Iran was building nuclear weapons that could be used on neighbors/Israel or US military facilities within their missile range, I am supportive of taking care of this difficult task.
But Trump communicates during his pep rallies in the most simplistic manner sloganeering. He never conveyed to the public this possibility in a sober fashion.
So he lost.

Hubris coming off the Venezuela success cause Trump to fly too close to the sun.
Sad because I think the intention was well placed.
And here is the underlying problem, Trumps personality and arrogance earned him zero grace. People could tolerate his warts when he is delivering the goods but while other people get 3 strikes, Trump gets 1 strike and he’s out.
Precisely. I said from the beginning that involvement in Iran wasn't even inherently bad. The on-again-off-again style dealings, fake timelines, and bumbling handling of Hormuz is what tanked it. It was like watching Les Miles run the ball into the teeth of the defense and swear that the offense was humming along.

NK isn’t even a real threat to nuke us. Every rocket they have tried falls into the sea next to its own coast.
No but they’re a pain in the arse, aren’t they not?
Now we have to actually negotiate with that little fat kid since he has the threat of being able to use a bomb on people.
I think you don’t understand that it’s not about their nuclear arsenal, it’s their threat of a strike that could kill hundreds of thousands somewhere.

People like you are why this happened. You were too naive to recognize how much of a screw up this was. That failure led to a lack of urgency about the election outlook every time it was mentioned, and now you want to play the “you people must sleep in the bed you made” card.
The irony is that this is the bed YOU made.

Is it a threat though if every single time it just falls 10 feet into the sea.
Is it idle for them to have it? No it’s not
So there are ways it could be handled to stop it, unfortunately Trump chose a bad time and the worst options in handling it. Once you go in you gotta finish the job and trust that the damage the correct decision did is something that can be reversed in time to win mid terms.
Everyone knows the msm is going to run biased headlines no matter what you do, so have to choose a swift action that can let that stuff die way before an election. So chose better timing and better methods. So trumps advisors really fricked him.

100%
The optics were simply embarrassing.
I actually couldn’t even visit this board during the entire affair because of how shameful it was. He gets an A for effort but life is a results business and he shat the bed.
This may go down as one of the worst political mistakes in history. Up there with “read my lips” and the Iranian hostage fiasco.

I'd say the Epstein files played a large role. The war was also a major contributor. Other factors: the stupid changing names of bodies of water etc, not bringing the cost of goods down, acting like a child, pissing off most of the other countries in the world, plus the media just exaggerating all his faults and none of his wins.

Only the delusional don’t see this.
Trumps constant gap between truth and lies/hyperbole was a “quirk” we where all willing to accept.
The no Middle East wars was a red line that a large chunk of the MAGA movement wasn’t willing to cross.
Even his own son sees that yes, Donnie can indeed do wrong.

Honestly there probably isn’t a worse way from an optics point and execution point that Iran would have been handled.
It’s not like the msm surprised him and all of a sudden started being bias and anti Trump.
Every single advisor that advocated for the on off shite and the timing of this should be exiled from the admin.
This is another Wiles failure, she is a terrible chief of staff and isn’t putting the best to Trumps ear. Start with firing her and then any person that suggested this route to handle Iran, it’s been ineffective and embarrassing

Credit to him for saying it

No one cares about half the shite you listed. The names and other countries are irrelevant

I’m not sure what you’re arguing about NK. They’re always threatening to nuke us.
They aren’t tied up to the imf, they aren’t in debt, their society is essentially America in the 50s. You go to work at the iPhone factory and get drunk at the bowling alley after with your podnuhs then you go to a home cooked meal made by your not fat wife who doesn’t have to work
We can look at South Korea in the us sphere and no nukes as an example of what not to do. Negative birthrate, deaths of despair, people get plastic surgery and leg lengthening surgery to try to look better for their tik tok addicted women
In North Korea the men don’t grow taller than 5’6 because they don’t have to. They don’t have hypergamy so a man can still be respected and find a wife if he’s less than 6 foot tall

You can argue that doing something was bad politically but still the correct thing to do otherwise.
If Iran nuked NYC but the 51% of the US electorate didnt care and wanted no response would the POTUS be expected to sit there and do nothing lest he suffer at the next election?

Why do you guys want to complicate this very simple thing. Very few care about this shite in their day to day lives.

war was also a major contributor
Correct. The war and its downstream effects. That's it.

the stupid changing names of bodies of water

This stuff doesn't matter. The sports analogy is that when a team is winning, their coach doing goofy shite is considered funny. But when the team starts losing those exact antics become tiresome.

Trump's tariffs were almost as unpopular in the exit polling. Like, within just a few percentage points.
Are you willing to admit that?

You for sure can do the right thing and it not be good politically but that comes at the cost of losing elections especially if you have a laundry list of problems and you also do a terrible job messaging why what you did was the correct thing.
It’s also much harder to justify when you do what you believe is right but have bad execution of it that leads to more bad headlines.
Iran didn’t have to be the defining issue of the election, but the timing and failure to wrap it up in time was bad.
If you are going to betray the base on a key issue, then you have to finish it off quick and be able to message it, none of that happened.

The Epstein files were another massive gift to the democrats. By 2025 no one on either side actually cared about Epstein, and the politicians on both sides knew there was nothing of substance left to be revealed in whatever files are left.
It was only when Trump and his team brought the files back into the spotlight and completely fumbled the optics, democrats got to stand on the sidelines and point out how shady the whole thing looks and claim Trump is hiding something.
Democrats claiming there was something massive hidden in the Epstein files was a complete bluff, and the republicans never called it, so the democrats won that battle.

Exactly when Les Miles was eating grass and stuff no one cares it’s funny the retard is beating our rivals.
When the wins stop and we have clock mismanagement then people are livid.
Winning cures all, if the economy was rolling Iran gets ignored

This is the correct answer.
I'm all for pushing Iran's shite in. That's not the problem.
The problem is they way it was done and the way it was communicated.
