Bud Light's lost customers never came back, in fact their slide has just continued.
Pretty much killed their brand forever, but they are still trying god bless them. They dropped a new ad this week. They are basically virtue signalling hard in the OTHER direction as much as they can get away with.
It features Shane Gillis, the guy SNL famously hired and then instantly fired for being too edgy. The theme of the ad is basically "Bud Light is for normal dudes who go to sports bars, not freaks"

It is a good commercial. But not original. We have seen this many times before.
And…frick bud light. No one drinking tranny beer.

it’s incredible that one chick hiring a dude pretending to be a chick sunk one of the biggest brands

Bud light does not get it.
Once your brand becomes something that beer drinkers use as a slur to call each other “girly” or “gay”…there is no coming back.

They just never learn ….

I’m guessing these big corporations are getting a lot of Gen z people in their marketing departments who have convinced everyone they have to pick a side otherwise they are screwed in the long run. There is just nothing else that makes business sense as to why they would alienate their core consumers like that.

Manning and Smith didn't help their cause.

Going to be interesting to see what happens to Jaguar now...

That was actually a pretty funny commercial and I love Shane Gillis.
Still not drinking bud light though

Seems overly fratty. Out of date, even.
I like it. Sensible Chuckle level.
But still not buying or drinking it.

Does the female marketing manager who came up with/approved the trany endorsement still work there? Last I heard she was still employed. Until she’s gone Bud Light isn’t sorry. I’m sure they’ve fired people for less and this woman killed the brand.

Nothing about the beer is better than the next American lager, people just bought it out of habit and it was the standard generic brand that everyone drank. They lost that, not sure they will ever get that back because habits were broken.

And that's the difference in the brand damage between Bud and the NFL. If BL shite all over its customers then so did the NFL, but the NFL doesn't have an equivalent competitor.

In a market as tight and competitive as beer sales, you go out on a limb to embrace stupid views, you push away customers. And those customers who have distanced themselves from you have probably found a better brand.

Yep. Can't think of anything that was ever perceived as "gay" that managed to pivot away from it. Their customer base was almost exclusively working class, middle class, blue collar, white dudes. Nobody is gonna buy the "gay" beer when there are a gazillion other options available.

Bingo. I read several articles about why the Bud light boycott worked where most fail and it was because of replacability.
It's hard to boycott something that has a defacto monopoly on something (NFL, Google, Apple, etc.) but boycotting something that has a gazillion competitors is easy.

Andre's sitting next to a jelly dong waving Texas fan. Not a good look when you're trying to change your image.

That's not as difficult as it used to be, and their last stronghold is Youtube. I'm pretty much Google-free (as far as I know, I don't research this stuff), but the competition for YT is still developing.
Granted with phones you have to pick your poison.
