Lived in SoCal in the early 70s as a kid. Reagan was governor I believe. Was still a great place. That Cali has been gone a long time. Sad.

The state geologically and meteorologically is the best the US has to offer. Socially and culturally it is currently insufferable.

I lived there in 78-81.
It was well on its way to gone even then.
When I moved out there, I drove.
When I got in the car in BR, my politics were considered liberal.
When I got out in CA 3 days later, my politics were right wing. I knew then it was done.
In 80 when we wanted kids, we didn’t want them raised inCA and left.

I have lived in California. In southern California, specifically. In the South L.A. metro area near the beach in a more affluent area that is now borderline ghetto and unaffordable, to be even more specific. So what part of California makes it the best?
You talking about along the 395 where it's still GOD's country for now? Because even they have been greatly affected by the retarded policies of the coastal elite retards, and are being priced out of the market for basically everything.
Aside from the ghettos in OKC and Tulsa and the state really needing to get their shite together with "medical" weed laws and regulations that have the Chinese making millions to send back to the CCP, there's a strong argument to be made that Oklahoma is by far a better place to live than California. Yeah, I said it, and I meant it, and the argument is tangible depending on your perspective.
I'm telling you straight up that you couldn't pay me 5 million a year to move back to SoCal. I won't even bother listing the hilariously unpleasant things I would rather endure than to reside there again.

Area from 78-2005, I really can’t disagree with the posts. But why are so many of the posters, especially those from the South, so obsessed with California. Hardly a day goes by where there is not a topic on Tigerdroppings critical of California. Your obsession of California is bizarre. It’s almost like an obsession. BTW, most Californians don’t really care what you think about them or their state. Find a new bogeyman.
