why are so many of the posters, especially those from the South, so obsessed with California.
I think for many California was a dream place. A symbol of American greatness and of a great American future.
Now the dream is gone and the future is dead.
That hurts the American psyche in a deep way.

Hart-Celler in 1965
The Southern politicians voted against it.
According to Wikipedia .......The bill received wide support from both northern Democratic and Republican members of Congress, but strong opposition mostly from Southern conservatives, the latter mostly voting Nay or Not Voting.
I wonder if Trump should try to get Hart-Celler repealed.

Your obsession of California is bizarre. It’s almost like an obsession. BTW, most Californians don’t really care what you think about them or their state. Find a new bogeyman.
So we can continue to complain about it and feel okay about it.

Do a search on the board for the word "culture" and check the context in the posts. Hell, I've even seen Jews referred to as white on this board.
That wasn’t very specific. Which posters?

Same Kennedy who supported homeowners retreat from invaders rather than stand & defend their own?
Yeah, that guy.

I'm far from obsessed with California. Others may be, but I was just responding to a poster who claimed California was the greatest state ever without providing any examples or reasons behind their assertion. Like you, I've lived in California so I believe I actually have a perspective and reasonable right to vocalize an opinion.
And i wasn't bashing the people of California at all, and really don't care even if they think I was, much as I couldn't care less what they think about me personally. I still have both friends and family in California. California's problem is their government, which at this point, who knows if the People of California actually even decide those elections any more? I've certainly seen claims backed up by evidence, that Cali is fully compromised and their elections are rigged, but I'm not touching that one way or the other.
RINOS and the Establishment Uniparty that enable the symbiosis of the Healthcare Industrial Complex, the Pharmaceutical Industrial Complex, the Food Industrial Complex, the Military Industrial Complex and the MSM Narrative Control Apparatus... those are the boogeymen. California is just a once-amazing state that has been all but ruined by wokeism and socialist/globalist ideology. And that State still has some of the most beautiful land on earth.

The only people still living in California are fruit pickers and dick lickers.

Idiot.
I’ll be in Monterey Bay in a few days getting away from the heat and trash (black and white) in Louisiana.

Again, I agree with the posters about how the far left politicians and bureaucrats have ruined the once great Golden State. My issue is with the almost daily postings on California on Tigerdroppings. It is no different than those who post on other forums about how much they hate Trump-TDS. Don’t need daily updates in both cases. It reeks of insecurity. Interestingly, my home state of Washington was very ant-California in the 80s and 90s when affluent Californians were moving up here and paying cash for homes. These days the anti-California attitude has diminished quite a bit. Maybe it’s because Californians that live in the Seattle area are not as out of touch with the locals as much as they would be in places like Idaho, Tennessee or much of Texas.

My Dad used to watch the Rose Bowl as a young man and see those blonde SC cheerleaders under the sun and say from the Midwest, now California is the place to be!...it seemed like another world, a perfect world...now...everyone is fleeing that disaster.

Still feels like Brian Wilson’s California in plenty of parts of Coastal Southern California.

This. Louisiana is a shithole and has some of the most dysfunctional, corrupt government in this nation’s history… the Democrats and Democrat run cities are violent crime ridden shitholes with a bunch of racist blacks in local government and state government constantly trying to push through commie policy… then blaming white conservatives for all their ills. Too many RINO politicians in Louisiana are happy to help them do it too. It’s hilarious the people who think all of California is L.A. and S.F.. ??
I’ve lived in several states, in various regions of the country. I would move back to coastal Orange County, permanently, tomorrow if I could. Perfect weather conducive to being outdoors and active year round, very conservative, very low crime, no bums or fentanyl zombies, clean as frick with no trash/litter, perfect roads, picture postcard beautiful coastline, world class skiing an easy drive away, constantly fun events and things going on, amazing restaurants… You pay for it but everywhere cool is expensive now.

So what is the best state then? If you say Texas or Florida… frick you. The politics are better, no state income tax is great, but everything else sucks. The weather is shite. I spend a lot of time in Florida, was born there and have family there. I’ve never once felt the desire to move there. Texas hill country is cool… but weather is shite there too.

California is lost. The middle class has been completely squeezed out. The state is only for the rich elites who can afford to live there & the immigrant serf(Labor) class who gets government assistance & lives 6-8 people to an apartment or small home. My wife is from California & left in 2010. 90% of her friends she grew up with have also left the state.
That’s not true. Most of my friends out there never went to college and all are doing very well. A couple of them do significantly better than me, and I have multiple degrees and do well for myself. They own their homes, raise their kids just fine. Kids went to great schools.
