Just seems like the sport is more corporate than ever. Its not what I grew up with and I hate what it has become. The NIL, the portal with no regulations its all ruined what was great.
You mean now that every team has a shot at the national championship? Of course I do.

fricked up for the players. Everyone who has played football would give anything to strap on the pads again.
I’m sure the players had a say in this.

I think it’s been at least 25 years.

I think USM's decline began when they fired Jeff Bowers. He was a successful coach for USM.
No, it started when they hired Ellis Johnson.

Didn’t they agree to 12 teams, too?

So did Bama. Just beat FSU and you’re in.

Put any other name in place of Alabama and pretend with a straight face that they'd be in a serious discussion about being in with 3 losses compared to two teams with 2
Exactly. If Miami was in the same spot, nobody would want them in. If they had lost by two TDs to 5-7 Miss St, they wouldn’t even get mentioned.

When you have 3-4'ish actual legit contenders, 2 spots is fine.
That’s such a ridiculous thing to say. If the NFL did that, you would hate it.

No, it wouldn’t.

My post was why they got rid of four teams. There’s not a clear cut top four.

thought we had it right with the four team playoff
So, who would make it this year?
Indiana
Georgia
Texas Tech
Who is 4? Ohio State? Why not Ole Miss? Why not Oregon? Texas A&M?

What about Texas Tech? They lost one game and that was without their QB.

Bring me back to a time where every single game was do or die
Every game wasn’t do or die back then. There were always about 4 games that mattered the last few weeks of the season and then there was one important bowl game. Last week there were around 30 games that had playoff implications. It’s much better now.
