How does a freaking Container ship take out a bridge? Was this like a cruise ship whose deck was stacked 300 feet high with containers? Like, huh? Didn't think that was a possibility even. You'd think if it was going to hit the bridge the captain of the ship might have noticed at first...

Oh good lord.

Yes the captain should have zigged a 200,000 ton ship with no power in a current filled river to avoid the brace.

And bridges are designed to withstand this type of impact. Any other bridge would have easily withstood the impact.

Idiot.

Fortunately, it appears that only about a dozen people are missing. This could have gone way worse.

Horrific beyond belief. No one knows yet the extent of the loss to human life, but the casualty count is not small.

Our crumbling infrastructure is becoming America's disgrace.

Yeah. It seems like the pilot was doing the best he could under the circumstances. I mean, even if he cut power and turned as hard as he could, it's going to take a half a mile to turn.

Well this one crumbled because a bigass container ship hit it.

Conspiracy theory denied.

There is a ton of ignorance in this thread already. Probably a ton more to come.

I say ignorance because most just don’t know about much involved here.

CNN: Was Trump onboard the ship?

MSNBC: Donald Trump has knocked down a bridge in Baltimore. The mayor says, "RACISM".

ABC: President Biden has warned that the ship was captained by a MAGA White Supremacist, thought to be Donald Trump himself.

NBC: Trump cannot account for his whereabouts when the bridge was struck.

CBS: Breaking News; Donald Trump was at the helm when a cargo ship struck a bridge in Baltimore.

they'll spin it to a systematic problem that requires more money, like good Progressives always do.

I cross the I-10 bridge over the Mississippi River.

I-10 bridge has fenders to protect from this, this hit is very odd though and the way it collapses so quickly.

I will be interested in what comes from the investigation.

Because there’s a strong chance DEI is a part of this, and some might like to know that. For example, the families of those killed.
