the new Skyway bridge addressed this exact design flaw to ensure a boat cannot make contact with the bridge pilings. Massive bumpers known as dolphins built around massive rock piles would have prevented such a tragedy.

Not sure how expensive these are, but this should become the standard around major shipping ports.

9/11 with a boat. That thing veers hard right towards the column after the second power outage. Losing power would not change the trajectory of the ship, which was fine until after the second outage.

I guess technically the bridge would be the phrase beginning, "and the rockets' red glare..."

You're right. It was probably the ecoterrorists after ICE vehicles.

Boat fuel can't melt concrete pillars!

So its one of the three:

1. A complete accident.
2. A DEI hire - we have built a complex world and DEI hires cant handle it.
3. An act of terrorism

This is going to have a massive economic impact.

Our infrastructure on many bridges are in bad shape.

I read any article years ago that graded the U.S infrastructure as a D.

If you really can't see that this was ISIS then there's no hope for you going forward.

Bootyjudge loves the D as our diversity transportation secretary. He loves trains too, ask East palentine. Full faith this will get taken care of…

Weird they have fenders around the power lines but not the bridge piles?

My thought, too.

Accident? Would you call pitiful maintenance practices that allow a ship to lose electrical power an accident? I will speculate this will be the ultimate determination.
