I know we know nothing much now - but would that mean they would have somehow been responding to him shooting his grandmother? Seems odd as to how or why they would have been involved with a HS Student.

That’s an average of 11 school shooting fatalities every year.
For comparison, around 400 kids drown in pools every year.
You would save far more kids from death by banning pools than actually trying to affect change in school shootings.
Secondly, guns don’t cause school shootings. What do you think causes them?

I do not support and am not advocating taking away anyone's weapons.
Don't confuse my skepticism of elementary teachers carrying in the classroom as a solution with supporting gun control measures
As I said, true prevention begins outside of the school.

How exactly would you giving up YOUR firearms stop kids in classrooms from getting shot, unless you're suggesting you were planning on using them in that capacity or giving them to someone who was?

Too bad you never understood the Constitution you took an oath to defend. The purpose of the of Second Amendment recognizing the rights of the citizens to own military grade weapons was not for hunting, it was to defend the country from the possibility of a tyrannical government.

Border Patrol are Federal Agents and in TX specifically are typically deputized as well. They can enforce almost all laws anywhere in the country.
They would absolutely be notified of a shooting and respond accordingly in addition to local LEOs
