I won't vote for David Jolly, as a lot of people here in Florida think he's using the Spanberger method.
I agree on both points. Jolly is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

There is an aggressive ongoing push to get white men to abandon college and abdicate fields like law, medicine, academia, tech, business, military leadership, and government to "others."

Fishback could've been the one candidate who could've gotten Florida a Democrat Governor. I agree he was that bad.
Lol yep. He has a huge fan in this very thread.
And like I said Donald’s is trash. Even as a huge Trump supporter Donald’s is still unproven and doesn’t have a track record. It was cringe when people were nominating him to be the speaker. I don’t want our party to start playing race politics just to get ahead.

Donalds is garbage.
A black dude from NYC who was a Democrat most of his life. Couldn’t imagine why he might lose.

Yep exactly. I won't lie, I was so disappointed in Donalds getting the nod, I actually looked into Jolly.
Former Republican, just like Crist. And like Crist, he's trying to portray himself as a moderate who was forced out of Trump's "MAGA Republican Party". Everything I've seen is that he's trying to use the same playbook as Spanburger.
He's going to push for moderate positions for the election. He'll try to portary himself as a common sense person who isn't too far right or too far left. He knows in Florida, if he goes too far left, he's finished.
But I know for me, even though I really don't like Donalds, it just feels like Jolly will pull a 180 and immediately become a socialist Democrat the minute he gets in office if he wins, just like Spanberger.
In a way I think Spanberger hurts Jolly here because it exposed the Democrat's playbook in moderate areas. Appear as a moderate and then move to the left the minute they can't stop you.

Are we going to start the same ole "he/she is a shatty candidate" again.
Seems some would prefer a good looking, slick talking fella, who can throw out stats all day long. Oh wait I just described Newsom, is that who you think is a good candidate.

people hear what they want to hear and think what they're told to think. it's sad
people here say all the time they want their sons going into trades and not college. They say all the time that too many people villify the trades. but, Byron Donalds says it and he's tone def? makes no sense

Won’t quite be like the evil witch in VA.
Most of his bullshite would be blocked by the legislature in FL.
My concern is the momentum it could create going forward. We don’t need the voters to be trained to fall for the act. The act needs squashed.
Looks like we have a David Jolly and Spanberger fan here.
You people are nasty.

Yep, it's a way to start making white men second class citizens. Have the white men do all the physical, back breaking, disability causing, menial labor. Meanwhile men of color and women get to have all the influence and have cushy high paying jobs.
And then they get the satisfaction of hiring a white man to do the work they don't want to do. It's really clear to see where there is going. Legalized second class treatment that is not much better than flat out slavery.
The next thing I see coming is a male singles tax. Tax single males into oblivion to where they are forced to be married. Even worse, I could see our courts targeting single males. Get them into the prison industrial complex for cheap or even free manual labor.

I never said no man should go into trades. There are definitely plenty of men who should go into the trades instead of college. But plenty of men should also go into college and not trades. The trades aren't for everyone. It's back breaking labor that causes many health issues down the road.
Plenty of men should go into the trades but also go to college. That way, they can work their way up into the trade and then also have the knowledge to maybe start their own trade business down the road, where they transition to the business/manager side and get to step away from the actual day to day physical labor.
But let me ask you this, why is it only white men who are being pushed into the trades? I don't see women or even minority men being pushed into the trades. You don't think there's something a little disingenuous about that? To me, it's hard not to believe it's part of a great effort to get white men, especially in the next generation or two, out of the vast majority of positions of power in this country.

One of my favorite things about being a white male is we are not sensitive and offended by the opinions of others.
Let’s keep it that way.
All of this sensitivity is making you sound weak.

You need to expand your horizons.
Beyond that, you're confusing population particulars with conspiracy.
Trade skills appeal more to males than females. It doesn't mean women can't do them, just that they tend to not gravitate toward them like males do.
White males make up 30% of the total population. The next largest group of males is hispanic (~9.5%) and then black (~7%). If you're going to advertise something, common sense says you tailor at least some of your advertising to the outsized majority.

There was better candidates but they crowded the field and Trumps early endorsement for Donald’s keep Collins from having a chance .

lol the alternative was nerd Fishback who had all kinds of personal drama with women and got randomly married.
there is an understated online war going on X and the podcast world that most people casually involved in politics are probably not aware of.
Not that everybody is in a neat little camp, but it's Ben Shapiro, Joel Berry, Vivek, Donalds, Levin, Seth Dillon, James Lindsay, etc. vs. Dave Smith, Auron Macintyre, Tucker, Joel Webbon, Christian Heines, Fishback, etc.
Most of these people are aligned on a core set of issues, but one group says GDP go BRRRRRRR and we'll do whatever is needed to get there the other is noticing that MAGA is abandoning a lot of it's principles (if there ever were any) and people for the sake of GDP or Israel.
There are the middle of the road people like Tim Pool or Nick Freitas as well.
It's not playing out on Fox News or CNN, but it's definitely there and showing some pretty big fault lines.

quote:oh, he has a track record. he's a convicted felon drug dealer, a fraud (literally), and a carpetbagging, new york yankee. all he's ever done is bank fraud, deal drugs and be a politician, and he has the gall to talk to young men about work ethic? the entire government, from campaign advisors to the highest 3 branches is a jobs program for retards.
Donald’s is still unproven and doesn’t have a track record
byron donalds is a walking around, dei, idiot.
these dogshit candidates that the grand ol boomer party keep trotting out will be the making of a third party headed by predominantly young White males. it's insane that the best they can come out with in 2026 is this stupid, dopey adulterous felon for florida who's too big of a coward to debate, and for ohio, an anchor baby who said heritage Americans are lazy - the same anchor baby who said he wants to turn ohio into the biggest h1b hub in the country with a silicon valley 2.0 plan. he has as good of a chance to get his shite pushed in as he does to scrape out a win. all because he's a "minority," which is still sexy to the boomercons.
quote:you can cope and seethe all you want on this echo chamber; that's still not going to change the fact that Fishback won 89% of the vote in the FSU precinct (among many others). the young men of the party are moving on from the bullshite "conservative" larp and headed straight towards a vision of restoration.
Lol yep. He has a huge fan in this very thread.
quote:Too late. candace owens was catapulted ahead because she was a token black woman. Republicans always get burned on this. Trump absolutely loves pandering to the blacks, e.g., giving pardons left and right to degenerate rappers while others who are legitimately in need of it are left to rot.
I don’t want our party to start playing race politics just to get ahead.
all for a demographic that not only will never vote for him, but would enthusiastically cheer upon hearing the news that he had been assassinated by intolerant, bigoted leftist lunatics. it's cuck behavior.
Republicans have one more presidential and midterm election cycle to get their shite together and decide if they want to portray young White males as rampant welfare frauds and call young men lazy, or concede their party to dustbin of history. the resulting party that will fill that void will not make the same mistake.
