Sarah Huckabee and Dan Crenshaw seem to be hellbent on doing that.

Donalds is garbage. Can’t believe Florida couldn’t find a better DeSantis successor.

lol the alternative was nerd Fishback who had all kinds of personal drama with women and got randomly married.

Anyone want to compare the votes?

It’s a shame. Hopefully policy/governance wise it’s more status quo, but yeah the marketing is just god awful

What did he do to disenfranchise white males, telling them they could make 100K in a skill job?

And Sarah Huckabee Sanders, can we please see a reference to that? The post I saw was the same nonsense a soundbite cropped and edited.

I live in Florida and Byron Donalds is just so tone deaf. He's going to be nothing more than an empty suit and be someone who is fully bought by the developers, to destroy more of our land. The developers won't be happy until all of Florida is paved over.

Truly paving paradise and putting up a parking lot.

Does Byron Donalds not understand that if all young men go into trades, there will be a glut in the trades? And then that means price goes down as competition goes up. And then that electrician won't be making $100,000/year.

I really wish the state constitution could be amended and Ron DeSantis could've run for another term. Bryon Donalds is just such a come down.

I won't vote for David Jolly, as a lot of people here in Florida think he's using the Spanberger method. Appear as a moderate populist and then immediately show himself as a leftist after winning. Jolly is definitely using the whole "I didn't leave the Republican Party, the Republican Party left me" saying.

But I'm not at all excited about voting for Donalds. Part of me is considering voting third party in the Governor's Race or just skipping that race.

Donald’s is garbage but you’ll learn one day how great the red Florida legislature is, not the governor. It will then make sense why DeSantis lost in the presidential primary and why Donald’s got elected.

DeSantis didn't lose, he was term limited. If DeSantis was eligible and he was in a republican primary against Donalds, DeSantis would absolutely destroy Donalds.

Got it, that wasn't really specified in your previous post.

DeSantis main error there was trying to compete against Trump when he knew Trump was going to get the nomination.

DeSantis should've waited until now and he would've been set up perfectly. Leave the Governor's office here in Florida in January 2027 and essentially immediately start a Presidential campaign for 2028. He could tout his success in Florida and how he could bring that nationwide, and probably could've gotten Trump's support.

He might still run for President in 2028, but now he has a loss on his record from 2024. And I'm guessing Trump will support Vance or Rubio. Not thrilled about that as I don't look at Vance as President material. DeSantis actually has experience Governing. Whoever gets the support of Trump though will be tough to beat in the Republican Presidential Primary.

No problem I should’ve been more specific but if you see my other post I referred to Fishback who was supposed to capture the youth vote in this primary who performed terrible. He’s another Beto skateboarding politician.

Florida no matter who Governor is will always be strong because of the red legislature.

Ah yes, let’s let a black dude who never worked with his hands (he was a “banker”) and wouldn’t even debate James Fishback lecture us about work ethic. While at the same time exalting how well women are doing (in a system that benefits them more than men with “women-owned” business funding and still apparent DEI hires).

I’m sure what he had some good things to say about the trades, but man, it cracks me up seeing these old white people clapping for him as if he was Thomas Sowell or Herman Cain.

I don’t think Donald’s and Huckabee’s strategies will help win over more support from young, white men. Just my two pesos.

Byron says "Brad" needs to make SIX FIGURES if he wants to afford living in Florida.

Except that's not what he said. He said it (a job in a trade skill) was not only a pathway to success, but a way "to afford the state into the future."

Basic English teaches that when you afford something into means to grant opportunities to or benefit something in a particular way. In other words, what he's saying is that trade skills benefit the state into the future.

Fishback could've been the one candidate who could've gotten Florida a Democrat Governor. I agree he was that bad.

I probably would've preferred Jay Collins, but not sad that he lost. I think he would've governed the most like Ron DeSantis, but he also comes off as an empty suit.

The big thing is I want a Governor who is going to focus on Florida and Florida issues. With Byron Donalds, I'm worried he'll just get caught up in more of the culture war stuff and be a proxy to Trump.

Florida is doing well, but we still need insurance relief. I would also like to see more restrictions and oversight on developers. Make the developers pay for insfrastucture to handle the additional homes, condos and apartments they built. Protect more of our state lands. Perhaps in some areas, even put in a 2 year building moratorium (unless it's an existing structure/business being torn down or replaced or an existing home being torn down or replaced) to try to allow infrastructure to catch up.

Byron Donalds isn't going to do any of that. He's probably already been bought out by the developers.

It wouldn't shock me if he tries to sell off some of our state parks and state forests so they can be developed.
