It's the fact that there's so many people in our own government and other institutions who deserve it more and nothing will ever happen to them

Their only goal in life is to die for their religion. You're doing them a favor by broadcasting their death.

The murderer showed no dignity or respect for his victims and should be show none. And all who contemplate political murder should know this will be their end. We are entering hardball revolution territory whether we accept it or not. The adversary is ruthless.
The dude likely figured he was going to die the day he killed those folks. Thi won’t be a deterrent to those that are already willing to blow themselves up for the cause.

Every member of Gen X watched all 3 editions of Faces of death. I've seen a mass firing squad execution in slow motion. No big deal.

ETA: I get that as a country over the last hundred years, such spectacles are not terribly uncommon. And I do get why some people want it but absolutely no true spiritual Christian should want to see this themselves.
ETA2: Do we have an example in the Bible where Jesus would want us to show and watch a public execution? Perhaps there is, I just don't know.
It's late (for me), so I'll be brief. From an Evangelical perspective:
- People are made in the image of God (Gen. 1:27)
- When someone murders an image bearer of God, they forfeit their own sanctity of life and it is incumbent for man to execute the murderer. Gen. 9:6
- In the Law, some executions were prescribed to be public (Dt. 13:9, 17:7). This is not to say all have to be or were. But, as far as I know, there are no instances where punishments were prohibited from being public.
In my theological view, Jesus did not come to setup a civil government. He came to save the world from our sin (Jn. 3:16). But that does not mean He has no design or will for governments and society and nations. He does. And many of the principles for that design can be found in the OT.
Hope this helps with OP's questions.

#1—I have the data from right here in the US. During colonial times all trials were concluded within 1-2 weeks and sentences were carried out immediately. All felonies were punished by death, and the sentence was carried out publicly. And the murder rate was six times what it is in the US right now.
Can you cite your data? Would love to see it. But it can also be asked, would the murder rate had been higher if there was no capital punishment?
quote:
#2—All the research I am aware of agrees that capital punishment is not a deterrent, but a high likelihood of being caught is a deterrent.
So when one is caught, what then? Are there any consequences?
If the likelihood of being caught is zero and the severity of punishment is nil, then there is nothing to restrain man's evil instincts. Crime of all sorts will abound.

Normally, I would be against something like this. But for this traitorus scumbag, I will watch with no reservations. He sold his country out, and murdered patriots.

I don't care what they do to him or if it is televised. He has earned every bit of it and then some.
Posted on 10/14/26 at 1:33 am to theballguy
If they don't want to see it, don't watch it.

Well, half of America are worthless imported social parasites foreign to the concept of justice and hard-work.

I dont really care, but it feels like pandering to his base for midterm votes. Same with the new H1B restrictions. I’m sure a bunch of small things will happen

They are all Old Testament “Christians” on this board, when it suits them.

Not this American. That piece of shite deserves a brutal and savage death. I’d love to see it live in crystal clear HD.

How many of those who are against it streaming live will still end up watching clips of it later?
Posted on 10/14/26 at 6:00 am to theballguy
Streaming the execution live is really no different than individuals pulling out their phones and videoing an individual(s) being beaten to death.

He deserves the death penalty and I am glad he is going to die.
But live-streaming the US government shooting a Muslim paraplegic is going to be prime recruiting fodder for terrorist groups and is likely going to make him a martyr.

I like the pay-per-view idea. Make some money off it and put it into the treasury. Pay off some of the national debt.

I'm an American veteran and I wasn't asked this question through any kind of poll. I am for the public execution of this maggot Muslim who took innocent American lives one day to satisfy his sick Islamic beliefs. And they were soldiers!
