Among people who showed up to a closed party primary election, Trump is absolutely beloved. However, general elections don’t have the same makeup of voters as the primary ones do. While I suspect Republicans will perform relatively well and see modest gains in the House and Senate in November, they may not. If Trump is turning off key parts of his coalition from 2024, including independents, they might not show up, giving room for motivated and organized dems to steal a handful of seats they wouldn’t otherwise get. When races are contested and margins are slim, the people in the middle (who don’t vote in closed republican primaries) decide who wins.

You obviously are speaking to folks that are dumb... almost as dumb as the rest of ur post!
You have no idea of what the reality was or is in Iran, other than what MSM tells you. If you voted for Trump, stfu and stand by ur vote!
None of us are informed enough to really understand what's going on. We argue about tid bits of information that we are ALLOWED to see and hear.

Or maybe next time, vote for Kamala...

Feel free to list another President who has done more on immigration than Trump, I look forward to your middle aged, soccer mom hysteria per usual. I couldn’t care less who you vote for, if you feel led to vote for the Left by all means do it. You aren’t conservative so your opinion is about as valuable as a teenage girl

You need Young republicans and Independents to turn out en mass or you will lose. Betraying them is not wise.

what does MAGA stand for now? Trump closed the boarder, other than that any MAGA principle he said he was going to do he didn't. MAGA dies when Trump leaves office. Then the GOP has to figure out its next move. The voters that got Trump elected are gone from the GOP.

From what I've been seeing is that the more Neocon Boomer segment is generally happy to have young conservatives tag along but as soon as you diverge from them on bombing middle east countries they say:

Go vote with the progressive commies for all I care

The Dems have revealed themselves to be the progressive Jacobin lunatics that they truly are. That is going to turn off many people who are not insane.

After that, the dead.

That is who is going to vote D.

The problem is that what boomers fail to realize is that zoomers are Jacobins even when they’re on the right. The zoomers far right and far left are actually the same.

So it’s a choice between wide open Borders with subsidies to all comers (Global Socialism) or Christian Nationalist Capitalism?

Life is full of hard choices. Let the Yut show their metal. They may want to assess Europe as a point of reference. Or not.

You can't consider a topic if someone you don't like spoke on it?

Stupidest thing I have read today. There is no split. Period. 1% of paid influencers does not make up the 99% of the GOP.

It’s worthy of discussion, but you won’t get one because they don’t care. The perception of owning anyone their propagandist of choice has told them has TDS or hates Jews or whatever buzzword of the week they read on Twitter is all that matters.

Policy is secondary.

Well we can talk around them but I agree.

Id actually argue that its a really strong support for the charismatic leader theory:
quote:

Charismatic leadership theory posits that leaders inspire devotion and extraordinary effort through personal charm, vision, and emotional connection rather than formal authority. The concept originated with sociologist Max Weber, who identified it as a distinct type of authority based on the leader's perceived exceptional qualities. In the 1970s, Robert House expanded this into a psychological framework, defining charismatic leaders as those who have profound effects on followers by commanding loyalty and inspiring them to transcend self-interest.

Key characteristics of charismatic leaders include high self-confidence, strong communication skills, and a clear, compelling vision. They typically emerge during crisis situations or periods of uncertainty, where their ability to articulate a new direction and evoke strong emotional responses is most effective. Followers attribute charisma to these leaders based on a reciprocal process involving the leader's extraordinary behaviors and the situational context.

They see Trump "owning the libs" and attacking people with ad hominem/pathos based arguments rather than reasoned/logos based responses and because they identify so closely with him mirror the argument style.

Id also suggest that for many of them they're so personally wrapped up as far as how they see themselves/self-identity that any one criticizing Trump is perceived as an attack on them personally so they respond with anger rather than objective responses. Its also the natural response because to get into an issue based debate would trigger cognitive dissonance because they'd have to confront the fact that many of the current positions are directly contradictory to positions they once held and even worse that Trump is on video holding within the last two years. So instead of dealing with any of that its hit and run Ad hominem then on to the next talking point so they can walk away feeling good instead of having to acknowledge the obvious gaps in their position.

What's interesting is that this internalization first happened with the left wing crazies where they saw anyone attacking "trans rights" as a "genocide", then Trump hit them and over time he became the same totem to the MAGA base.
