One way to look at it is simply as a generational divide.
Baby Boomers/Silent Generation
vs
Millenial/GenZ
GenX is kinda in the middle.
Common ground is cultural/practical:
United against Trans/lgbtq crap
United against Cancel Culture/Covid Lockdown mentality
Fairly uniform on MAHA and Big Pharma
Anti-Abortion
Anti-Fraud Waste and Abuse
Anti-Open Boarders
The Gap:
Against Endless Foreign Wars in the Middle East
Millenial/Genz Generally wants prosecution of Epstein Class

From what I've been seeing is that the more Neocon Boomer segment is generally happy to have young conservatives tag along but as soon as you diverge from them on bombing middle east countries they say:
Go vote with the progressive commies for all I care
The signal I get is that all of the common ground issues are entirely ancillary... the number one goal is war in the middle east and if you can't get with that then get lost.
So what now?

They’re more fringe libertarian types that chose him over Kamala.

Washington has had the evidence for over a decade, three different justice departments chose to do nothing, and the only man who knew the truth is dead. I've not spoken to a single conservative in-person that doesn't view this Iran thing as a total disaster. It is a total disaster. Why we are in Iran?! and don't tell me its because Iran was an imminent nuclear threat, because that's a load of crap. Their nuclear material is buried under a mountain and their capability of hitting us does not exist. I remember the WMD bullshite that got us into Iraq, and I'm not falling for it again. I believe it was Robert Mueller who pushed that lie.
