I heard somewhere that trumps own construction company is doing the construction. Can anybody confirm this. Is Trump making side money off this?

Doubt it. Government project, government approved contractors.

Trump does not own a construction company.

The thought of a billion dollar luxury ballroom would absolutely SICKEN jesus christ, and should sicken all his followers that have dared to read the bible.
19x more spent in fraud in one state amongst a single demographic alone, and you morons sky scream about this dumb shite when it is overwhelmingly privately funded.

I hated when Clinton and Obama sold out the White House. I hated when Biden sold access to Ukraine or anyone who would pay for his son’s shakedown demands. I hate this too.
I didn’t vote for this.
That's a fair position to have.
As long as you weren't "quietly upset" about those examples while being "totally outraged" and losing your shite when Trump is doing it.

From now on, when talking about "the ballroom", use quote marks. It's really a bunker.
Trump now says a military hospital, research facilities, and meeting rooms for the military are being built below the White House ballroom. He says the ballroom is really a shield for these facilities.
He's going to barricade himself in there after he refuses to leave office in 2029.

I think selling out our government on any level is a very slippery slope and should be outlawed at every level.
I voted for Trump and thought he would bring about some fiscal sanity but I’m disappointed.
This ballroom is democrat BS

It’s like buying a McLaren when you’re living paycheck to paycheck with maxed out credit cards.
The alternative is like renting a car for the rest of your life. Event venue costs money either way.

Two things can be dumb at the same time. You're thinking like a 5 year old.

No it’s not.
The White House has always hosted lavish affairs. The previous space was enough to host up to 250 for a formal dinner and if needed, they could add lavish tents, floors and stages. IF needed…
The maintenance and cost to run this gaudy ballroom will far surpass what any of that costs…
Trump has upped the bar on spending. I cringe to think what the democrats will do if they get their chance.

I want to see the drone proof tents

DAILY spending on recent wars:
Afghanistan: $300 million
Ukraine: $130 million
Iran: $891 million to $2 billion
I'm for cutting D.C. spending down to almost nothing, but I have a hard time getting upset about this. One of the arguments for Ukraine spending was that most of it was actually going to the United States for supplies and weapons, so it was helping our economy.
Well guess where the money for the White House is going? U.S. companies and contractors.

I love it - America needs to get back to make awesome structures - I love the arch and Trump is making Washington beautiful again by fixing the fountain and the reflecting pool. The ballroom will be one of his greatest accomplishments. This is what great countries and leaders do. Im no fan of hitler, but it would have been cool to see spear's Berlin project finished - would have been an amazing site to see.

It's very well known this is not being paid by tax money. It will be easier to secure than a fricking tent or a hotel where any lefty kook can book a room.

[quote]I tried the search function and was surpriised there was nothing of note about the kerfuffle over the ballroom. It seems like old news, but Can anyone actually justify spending billions on such a ghastly looking project? The suggestion that it's necessary for White House security is obviously bullshite. So much for using taxpayer money wisely (the "private donors" aren't covering the tab). This rtdiculous boondoggle shouldn't even be an issue, but it involves real money and should be debated seriously in Congress...[/quote
Justified. Next question.
