Counties and land don’t vote, people do.
Ballots vote.

It is happening everywhere in the USA.
That’s my point, it’s the same issue, an urban-rural divide. The smart arse “land doesn’t vote” crowd are gonna FAFO one day when the authoritarian progressivism gets pushed too far down our throats.

I think the point is fairly obvious
Atlanta controls the entire state, which is fairly rare for a southern state.
60% of the population lives in that MSA. Why the hell would they not have huge influence over how the state is run?

But what does that matter? This is a democracy.
The state has developed in large part because of ATL's rise. These people want the economic benefits of urbanity without everything that comes with it. Or they want to promote a regression to giving rural communities disproportionate power, to devolve the urban areas by making them unpalatable.

see what happens when you don't elect mayors like Latoya

Well…they obviously do. That’s the point, dick.

Imagine valuing ballots more than actual people.
Oh wait, you already do.
Oh wait, you already do.

Who said they don’t have influence? Are you as dense as you are fat?

I’ll bet a lot of urbanites in Chicago would LOVE the benefits of urbanity without everything that comes with it.

No one
But the implication here is that they shouldn't have as much influence as they do have
Which is asinine

You mean citizens of your state?
I mean the mass congregation of people in one specific city, many of whom are full of white guilt and the other many who are reliant on government handouts.
The Democrat plantations of this country are alive and well. And the ignorant masses love being slaves to the system.

Did Georgia election reforms include deciding the winner by county?
Wish the state charterers would have had the same presence of mind the Founders did with the EV, that’s for sure.

I hate it but Democrats play the game better than the GOP does. While republican voters are too busy having a dick measuring contest trying to find flaws in candidates so they can sound like the smartest guy in the room, the left rallies the troops behind the one with the D before their name.
You think the left gave a flying frick that Fetterman was a "muhh bad candidate?" Frick no they did not. But folks on the right have to feel elite by shitting on it's own candidates and forget the big picture.
If you go to a left-leaning board, you'll read the exact same sentiments in the exact opposite direction. "How could anyone vote for Walker?" is a very common theme.
Hyper-partisanship is killing the country.

And that's impossible. That's the point.
This board, due to its demographics, is disproportionately represented by people who rely on the benefits of urbanity. You want "good jobs" and all the stuff that comes wit it? Typically requires an urban center (even if you're not living or working in it, your industry will be supported by the overflow).
Everyone wants to make $200k+ and live in a place with low crime and no traffic and all the amenities of modern life within a short distance of their home.

Those people should move to Alabama because that is exactly what we have.

What are the major metro areas in the south? Atlanta, Nola, Miami, Tampa, Charlotte, Memphis? There aren't a ton and Atlanta is the largest by far.
