Sad that you don't understand that the greatest factor in a person's economic mobility, especially across generations, is their own actions, or lack thereof.
You're getting mad at people without boots for not pulling themselves up with their bootstraps.
Then when they point out they don't have boots, you tut tut and remind them that they only need to pull harder.

The unaccounted for confounders isn’t something I can really comment on, but seems like you are playing fast and loose with the ability to see whatever you want with data regardless of what it says when you go down that road.
Not at all. They found a marked difference among men, but not women. They did not design the study to find out why such a discrepancy may exist.
This is normal.

Sooo. Everyone wants healthcare provided by the same government that is in charge of the VA health system?
Why does anyone who loathes the private sector invest? Social security is there. Why not just blow that money? The private sector is greedy and unreliable. Right? Just trust the government to secure your future. Besides, that money that goes to social security wouldn’t have grown faster in investments wouldn’t it?
Tell you what. They are about to bankrupt a town in California with an experiment on universal income... let that state be the test state for universal health care. It must run smoothly and in budget for 15 years or it’s never even considered again. Deal?

This is bullshite, but if there is even a small increase in the number of people accepting of single payer, then the abject failure that is Obamacare served it's intended purpose.
Obama and the socialist democrats told people it would save them money, lie. Obama and the socialist democrats told people they could keep their plan, lie. Obama and the socialist democrats told people they could keep their doctor, lie.
Oh, the government totally screwed up your health insurance? Well that's because they weren't in total control of it! We need to go single payer!
Exactly. Obamacare was designed to fail in a way to make single-payer look like a bargain.

It really doesn't. You might be one of the morons that labors under the idiotic belief that you are entitled to the services medical professionals provide but smarter, honest people don't...

How many people chiming in on this thread actually work in healthcare?
More specifically how many are doctors?
More specifically how many are doctors?

Suffice to say I do not think your initial snippy quote of “*Be white” is supported by your study. I got to get work done, you guys play nice.

I'm not mad at anyone (save perhaps your educators who provided you a woefully inadequate education, that angers me)
If being black prevented generation income growth, no blacks would ever see generational income growth, and conversely if being white was some all pervasive advantage, all whites would see generational income growth.
The left arguing that being black is why so many blacks are poor is as ignorant, racist, and hateful as when some on the right argue that being black is simply the answer to why so many blacks get arrested.
You're a racist sir.

Probably a better question to ask how many have formally studied healthcare economics.
I'd much rather have a healthcare economist design a system than a doctor. While their input should be heard, their opinions are about as valid as a front line soldier's are in forming national foreign policy strategy.

That’s a very nice metaphor what does it mean? Are you expecting someone to give you boots and if so would that be it or do you expect than tonpull you up as well? And what exactly would these boots be?

So, BamaATL, no proof that there is more waste, abuse, and fraud with private insurers then there is in the medicare/medicaid programs?
I'm shocked......
In the future , you may consider staying on the porch sonny, you can't run with the big dogs.

quote:Yup. Everyone thinks “single payer is great! I get as much care as I want and stick my neighbor with the bill.” But... their neighbors.... have same ability.
People want an economic fantasy.
Simply cannot give away billions of dollars I care and have it be affordable to those left paying for it. It simple math.
I always give the simple example. If you have 10 people... 8 of them have healthcare bulls of $2/yr. The other 2 have $10/yr bills. If we “spread the costs” across everyone... how does it work out for he other 8?
Posted on 4/13/18 at 8:58 am to AbuTheMonkey
Exactly! This is an economic problem. And no matter what you do, there is no way to design a system that is cheap, offers universal access and delivers high quality. Those three things cannot exist together.

And it is nonsensical. I gave my own personal anecdote of my grandparents having NOTHING when they were young, and today I'm pretty damn well off because each subsequent generation worked our asses off to improve our families lot in life. MILLIONS of people do it every day, including black folk.
BamaATL is a racist who believes that black people are simply incapable of improving their own lives. Pathetic.

A single payer health care system will not work in a country as heavily populated as this one. It didn't even work in Vermont when they tried it, Bernie's home state.
