Dropped a shotgun thats not recycling on December 17th. Told them I had trip on Feb 2nd and the shotgun was my dads.... and he wanted it for this trip. "No problem - should be ready in 4 weeks."

Called 2 weeks ago, I called inquiring about it. "Its not quite ready yet." I informed them again I needed it on Feb 2.

Last week - 7 days in advance - I secured a different gunsmith that promised he could turn it around in a week. I went by JIM's and told them I needed to pick it up because I had someone that would have it to me on Feb 2. The gal at the counter talked to the gunsmith and they PROMISED it would be ready on Thursday Feb 2.

I go in at 2PM today, stand around for 30 minutes - to have the gunsmith come out and tell me he had gotten the message I needed it today, but looked at it Tuesday. Had to order a part. It wont be ready today.

Are you kidding me? Im leaving at daylight. My old man has asked me about this effin shotgun 3 times.

I understand why so many of you said not to walk in there. They have burned me and I should have listened. Noted.

Wont ever step foot in that building again. I am so mad I cannot see straight.

Update: 2/4/2017

Got a call from Jim's Firearms yesterday while on our hunt. Evidently the employee posting in these threads..... she was upset & extremely apologetic. I appreciate the apology. I told her it was not personal & she shouldnt take it that way. She offered to talk with the manager to see what they could do for me, but I declined.

Please refrain from personal attacks/comments.

It takes longer than four weeks to break bad habits.

Same here! I'd probably still be there. I hope you got the gun back. Frick their ordered part! Let them figure out what to do with it. It won't be ready in time anyway, bring it and your money somewhere else.

Only way to get businesses to change is to take money from them. But, there will always be stupid people who continue to support crappy businesses.

I'd be interested to know who. I have an older browning that wont cycle and I'd love to have it looked at by someone who knows what they're doing and won't take until next dove season.

I didn't take Boudreaux' comment to be a reference to bossflossjr. I interpreted it to mean there will be/have been others who support Jim's. (Hopefully I'm correct.)

Thanks. And thats hysterical.

No question I screwed up, several times in several ways, on this deal. Hindsight is 20/20.

If this thread stops 1 person from going there, Good. I know several guys, after talking to them this afternoon, that will never grace the place. Did everything I could to be pro-active to make sure it was ready.

Still fuming.

stinks when you think you are dealing in good faith and you find out they really didn't hear or give a shite about a word you said...

that's enough right there to not only earn a loss of business but an enemy as well
