I never delete posts, but will update them as needed. Situations happen. People can either fix them or not

For future, I have had a couple guns worked on at Reulet Gun Works in Covington LA. Great guy, really quick turnaround. Excellent communication in my experience

Bottom line is we screwed up. He has every right to be pissed. It's our mistake and I dont blame him not one bit. We can do better than that. Sorry I only left the store number but I'm not quite comfortable with putting my cell# online.

At this point, do you think he didn't have the store number?

I noticed a few weeks ago that Jims seemed to have bumped up their TV ads. There's at least 2 approaches to business... Keep those you got happy, or go get some new ones to piss off. No doubt what's going on here.

With all due respect, if you posted something in a thread with an offer to help me, I never saw it. If you addressed my issue by providing the stores phone number in a different thread, I didnt read it.

If this was directed at me, my information at your store would not be hard to find if you wanted to make it right by said timeframe. Find the ticket, have the gun repaired. Find the ticket, get my number off of it & call me. Something.

Posting the store phone number in a tigerdroppings thread is not resolving issues.

If you were directing this to me, "I never heard anything" so I didnt take action - is ridiculous customer service and it just lost you another customer. I am by no means a big spender in there, but I have purchased things over the years, that can be found elsewhere in town.

My apologies if you were not directing this to me. Doesnt change my stance on Jim's tho.

I am with my dad now in the woods and he was unhappy when I arrived yesterday w the shotgun in the same shape. "Hell i could have had someone fix it up here in the last 2 months." No kidding, Pops... I could have learned gunsmithing and fixed it myself had I known what was gonna happen.

Lesson learned.

Didnt ruin our weekend.

Jim's is a great place to go if you want to buy a gun for 30% more than internet prices. I really enjoy doing that, so I shop at Jim's.

I once went into Jim's with the intention to buy there. I could not find the shotgun I wanted in the cammo pattern I wanted. Was willing to pay a little more to get it then and there if anyone had it. So, I figured I might actually be willing to buy from them this one time. They were that much higher that I just couldn't get myself to do it even though they were the only people in town with it.

Ended up driving out to Puglias where they had it in Stock, and was able to not only get it cheaper than Jim's, but cheaper than most places.

I guess whatever I say at this point, no matter how sincere I am, will be taken the wrong way. I thought I was doing the right thing by coming on here and making a post. I guess I should have never commented.

Assuming you aren't trolling (which I think you are), the only person that can fix this thread in your favor is the one who started the thread.

Call the OP, offer him a gift card or store credit. He'll be back here with an update in the store's favor. Period.

It's obvious you aren't serious if this doesn't happen because, if not, it's proof Jim's thinks it's customer base is stupid.

contrast this with Bowie who for years had an employee with an active presence here who clearly was able to gain customers for the shop. or interstate guns in Hammond with the same thing

gun shops are weird for some reason. the worst customer service experiences of my life have all been gun shops. for whatever reason there's a fairly common attitude about them and their staffs that the customer should just buy and do what they say to buy and do, or they will move on to the next guy

when you find places like Bowies and interstate that at least try to be normal businessmen it's a shock to the system

Melissa you getting some pushback not because you commented which is welcome, but because you didn't do anything.

call bossfloss, offer to make it right, and he will come back here and say so.
does this really need to be explained to you?

That's because "working" around guns usually attracts a certain personality type (like the no-nonsense "my way of highway" types).

Usually the younger guys are more chill behind the counter, but some of the 35+ aged guys can be unbearable with their pseudo macho persona. Those types need to understand that most repeat customers have forgotten more about guns than they know and should some respect.
