Big knife shop up in Columbia, in Caldwell Parish. Does a lot online. Sell just about every make including Case, Benchmade, etc

Benchmade…
I’m sure there are others that are less expensive, but none of those have the AXIS lock and while not the end of the world, I love that feature.

Ruike P801. It’s a frame lock. Nice budget EDC knife. Check it out.

As others have stated, there are options and most of them are good. It comes down to preference and price point.
Some folks swear by Buck while others say they are junk. Same with Case, Benchmade, Gerber, etc. Kinda like Ford, Chevy, Dodge or Winchester, Savage, Remington…
If you like it and it is in your price range then that is the knife for you. I don’t have a designated EDC knife, there are 5 on my dresser and I grab the one I need that day. The best knife in the world is the one you have on you when you need it!

Love my buck knife and warranty. Sharpening at the factory costs me $6.95 in shipping. For life.

Ontario RAT II
I second this one. I carried one in D2 for a couple of years until I lost it in the gulf throwing a cast net. I replaced it with a Civivi Pintail in S35VN and then replaced that with a Mini Bugout. I still miss the Rat and plan on buying another soon. They just announced the Rat 1 in S35VN so hopefully they plan on putting out a S35VN Rat II.

Went to the Benchmade website. Nice, but too pricey for me. I was planning to buy a couple of folding knives as Christmas presents, but was thinking in the 50-80 dollar range per knife. I'm kind of thinking Buck 110.
Pretty much only have case and bucks, good price point and made in the USA hard to beat for everyday carry. I recently bought a Buck 112, like the smaller profile vs the 110.

I have both 110 and 112. Prefer the 112.
It’s like Glocks. The 17 came first, but they got it right with the 19.

No Schrade love so far, so I'd throw that into the mix especially considering your price point.
For my everyday carry I prefer a single lock blade kind of like this.
Like everything else though, they moved manufacturing to china probably 20 years ago and the newer stuff is not as quality as older American made.

The Rat is great for the price.

I carry a small Buck Prince as a daily.
It's a pretty little knife that does one thing well, cut. It's small enough that I've never had to give it up at a courthouse or state building.
Once a year I send it back, they clean it, sharpen it, and send it back. I've only ever paid postage.
I have a buck skeleton skinner if I need to do damage to something

There are a lot of good options, but I've been carrying a Kershaw Leek for about 10 years now. Same knife. Longest I've ever gone without losing a pocketknife. No complaints.

Case trapper. Never goes out of style. Super easy to sharpen. Stays sharp. Cleaned a few deer, hogs, and squirrels with mine along with daily activities such as toe nail digging, box opening, cheese cutting, and just plain ole fidgeting
