re: Gamo Air Rifles - Teague
I definitely agree you can't just shoot it anywhere, especially if you have small lot lines. If you have a decent sized yard and a good large backstop like a shed you should be fine. Definitely dangerous to put some aluminum cans on a pine fence and blast them, you are certainly right about t...

re: Are rat snakes pretty docile or will they bite the crap out of you? - Teague
They tend to be a bit nippy, especially smaller ones. But, some of them are pretty docile. None of them will bite you if you're not messing with them....

re: Snake Stories: Too Close for Comfort Edition - Teague
Somehow all of my snake encounters have been comfortable. They usually go something like this: "Oh, cool, there's a (insert snake species)." Snap some photos. Observe natural behavior and sometimes defensive displays designed to scare away predators. Go on about my day. A couple weeks ago, ...

re: Dutch Shepherds who knows what - Teague
have a GSP I know high energy dogs
I'm not saying you don't know high energy dogs, and you know better than I do what you want in a dog. But, I will say 99% of American bred gsd's are lap dogs compared to working line gsd's or malanois. Are you asking about actual Dutch shepherds,...

re: What would the outdoor board do? - Teague
I put my hand right on one of those the other day. I grabbed a log to hold onto while I was scrambling along the edge of a creek. I felt something big scurry out from under my hand. I looked down and there was a huge fishing spider sitting there. I'm not scared of spiders, but grabbing it like that ...

re: Southeastern Crowned Snake - Teague
They can be found by flipping rocks and logs in the spring. Some areas have a lot more of them than others. I don't think I've ever lived in one of those areas. I've seen very few of them, but I've watched "herping" videos where several turn up in a few hours....

re: Anyone have an Airedale Terrier - Teague
I don't think you can beat a doberman as a family dog. The short life span sucks though. I had to have mine put down a few weeks ago. I've never had an Airedale. But, most of the terriers tend to be a bit "driven", to say the least. Perhaps they're not as spazzy as some of the smaller terriers....

re: In the Market for a Crossbow - Teague
not make fun of how their brothers choose to put food in the table.
I get the overall sentiment, but let's not go overboard. Ninety-nine percent of us aren't relying on hunting for food. We eat the game, but don't rely on it. The grocery store is cheaper than deer hunting, if you s...
