They believe it shows independence, but it actually shows how silly and pathetic that they are for not having basic domestic skills. Some are even proud of it...like some type of weird empowerment thing. That ain't nothing to brag about.

A woman with no nurturing spirit is an odd bed fellow...

You can say the same about men. A man who can’t take care of himself isn’t a man.

I’m not saying he has to be the primary cook and maid, but at least needs to be capable of performing these self sufficient tasks.

i'm not going to talk about how cooking and cleaning are somehow in a woman's nature, but i will say this

i cook
i clean

there is no excuse for having such poor life skills unless you have a trust fund in the 7 figures. they're not difficult

You can thank feminism for that. Somehow being able to cook and do housework makes you a victim of the patriarchy.

A buddy of mine’s wife doesn’t work. They have three kids, but also have a maid and a nanny. I dont get it.

I don’t care if my SO didn’t work, but if not, I better have a damn clean home and prepared meals every day.

I do 90% of the cooking. I enjoy it. My wife doesn’t. We both pick up and have a maid that does the heavy cleaning.

I do 90% of the cooking in my house. Not because my wife can't, because I get home before her early and normally while I'm cooking if shes home she'll be doing clothes or something. We ear dinner and go to bed. If she had to she could cook and does a good job.

I agree though, it's not a badge of honor to not have basic life skills.

yeah i don't get it unless there is a relationship that is one-sided (where the man refuses to do either/both)

single women in college through like 30 who act like cooking is this difficult thing blow my mind

cleaning is worse b/c it's mostly effort (and i don't like most cleaning acts, tbh). hell unless you are OCPD about it, it's not even that much effort. most cleaning takes place when you are doing the act of dirtying. just do a light clean at that time and "big cleaning" is much less of a concern

Women like that don’t get married And if they do they don’t stay that way...unless they are rich and don’t have to

Was at a couples shower this past weekend and the Host of the party had a pretty big/nice home and by the looks of it did well for himself. Guy was great restocked food, drinks, and after I watched him do ALL the dishes and clean up. I helped out some.

I heard his wife brag about how she didn't cook, clean, or do any chores around the house... She even cornered me at one point and bragged about her fine china and shitty looking dining room table for about 30 minutes.

i'm sure this applies to some (esp the wives who don't work and don't clean/cook), but i imagine it has more to do with manufactured stress that modern, working woman seems to create. most women i know own way too much stuff and are just constantly reshuffling the junk pile while they pick a new project (every week or so). add his on top of inability to compartmentalize and it's just a mess when it comes to budgeting time for day to day stuff

Wife and I have my grandparents clean our house. They do it for free. They are in their 90s and decent health. Wife and I are trying to find work but it’s hard in today’s climate.
