How can you be bad at cleaning? You must be a dirty motherfricker. Do you not clean yourself? Or does you wife have to wipe your arse for you?

i'm not good at picking up the little things when assessing a situation for cleaning

the actual act is easy but if i'm spot cleaning i miss shite all the time. it's much less of a deal if i'm just cleaning an entire area, regardless of needs

"Bad" maybe was the wrong word choice. I clean fine when I find the motivation to do it. Finding that motivation is where I struggle. Luckily my wife has no problem finding that motivation and does 85% of the cleaning. I do pick up after myself and clean the kitchen after I cook, but mopping floors, cleaning toilets, etc., is a rarity.

How about we just say if you're an adult (man or woman) you should be able to take care of yourself if need be.

Sometimes I get pissed at my wife for not doing the dishes on her days off, but then I just spend 5 or 10 minutes doing it and forget about it.

She does the laundry almost exclusively. I don't mind divvying up the chores and doing what we need when needed. We both work.

You can thank feminism for that. Somehow being able to cook and do housework makes you a victim of the patriarchy.

frick off with that. I put in 40 hours of work from Friday to Sunday this weekend, I'm not coming home to clean up after anyone but myself, because I am an adult. I don't want to date/bed/marry a child, clean up your own shite, because that's what adults do. if you see something that needs to be done just do it. having balls doesn't give you a pass to be a lazy frickstick.

I was with you until this one.

My wife tends to have the same POV (or at least she did before we had a talk about it). But I (and your SO) am not a mind reader. I don't know that the you don't have any underwear clean and need me to help do the laundry UNLESS YOU TELL ME!

Sure I can see that the dishes are dirty and help with that without being asked but I can't possibly know that the guest bathroom trash needs to be emptied cuz I never go in there.

I do not expect a woman to clean up after me or cook for me. I am more than capable.

The quickest way out the door with me is for a woman to expect me to do that for her.

Once I get to the point of seeing her sit on her arse while I do the cooking and cleaning, Bye Felicia.

And no "Just tell me if you need help" only makes it worse. You ain't blind, You see what I see. Get your lazy arse off my couch and out of my house.

And yes, this attitude has become rampant in the last 20 years.

But you can see the laundry building up, right?

If the bathroom is being used, not knowing the trash can is full is not an excuse. But I will take that you personally do not use the guest bathroom. Then you could not know it is full, obviously.

My point is the things that are visible in the house to the both of you on a daily basis.

Real Question: Are you my wife? Cuz this is verbatim what she told me.

The answer I gave her is that I would try to be more aware of things like that but it isn't something that comes naturally to me.

I am totally willing to help but sometimes I need to be pointed in the right direction.

does it come naturally to you to complain about it when you have to step over it?
