re: Anybody else deal with restless leg syndrome? - windshieldman
Yes, it’s miserable. Toe touches to stretch the legs helps some, or find some muscle relaxers....

re: Video shows man randomly punching people in French Quarter - windshieldman
I’m in NO with family all the time and walk around late at night. I’m still waiting to get hit, raped, robbed, or killed. Dropped my wallet on bourbon st last time and had a guy find my work ID and they got ahold of me. Got it back with everything in it, local NO man. Maybe next time I go I can be r...

re: More prostitution in CenLA massage parlors - windshieldman
It’s cyclical. It seems to go up and down, back and forth until it explodes into something like this. It then spurts out into the news cycle until everything deflates, only to rise again again some time later. It only serves to stroke the ego of law enforcement
ISWYDT ...

re: Wisconsin police release deadly shooting of police and paramedics trying to help a man - windshieldman
Would it be normal for the first responders to feel this guy up when he was out to make sure he didn’t have any weapons?
I’ll admit it can be common enough dealing with overdoses and pushing narcan to sometimes get complacent. He was sitting in a seat and if they saw no obvious sig...

re: Wisconsin police release deadly shooting of police and paramedics trying to help a man - windshieldman
As a medic I thought this could have been a good thread with good discussions about what medics and police deal with regarding these situations, and how awful it is seeing people overdosed like that. But damn, y’all been butchering the shite out of this thread...

re: Civil War - Was it a missed opportunity for foreign nations? - windshieldman
good point, and if a nation took that opportunity to attack the CSA, they would have immediately had to take on a geared up US army, because The US was dead set on staying unified.
Yea north wouldn’t have allowed that, if they did though, south would have surrendered with quickness...
It’s like someone picking on your brother. Y’all may fight from time to time, but frick the guy messing with your brother. It probably would have sparked a historical “time out” where we kick the invader’s arse for trying and then go back to killing each other.
Honestly, this i...

re: Civil War - Was it a missed opportunity for foreign nations? - windshieldman
If not for Lee the CW would have been over quickly. Prior to war even southern commanders were noted saying they expected to be defeated within weeks or months. Britain wouldn’t have been able to help much unless they got their army in prior to the blockade....

re: Civil War - Was it a missed opportunity for foreign nations? - windshieldman
Any attention away from the CSA would have given General Lee a huge help
Would have helped some but the north had plenty of troops at its disposal. They had more soldiers at the end of the war than the first couple years. They would have had plenty enough to fight the south and def...

re: Civil War - Was it a missed opportunity for foreign nations? - windshieldman
Mexico was competing against the South in the cotton trade. One of the big issues of the war. The north was raising or threatened to raise taxes on cotton and making it hard for southerners to compete with other countries. Britain by that time was against slavery. Not sure France take...
