It could happen to you too!

quote:

A Richmond, Virginia, doctor woke up to a bat attempting to enter her mouth, prompting her to share her experience and advice on handling potential rabies exposure. Dr. Krista Edelman, a gastroenterologist, recounted the incident in her nearly 100-year-old home. "So I was dreaming, and in my dream there was a cute little field mouse. This is pretty vivid, the whole thing. A little field mouse trying to get into my mouth," Edelman said. As she began to wake up, Edelman reached for her mouth and grabbed something she initially thought felt like a tulip. "And then I felt on its back really kind of coarse, short hair, and when that happened, I realized that was not a mouse. I screamed, and I was screaming repeatedly, something to the extent of like, 'There's a bat in my mouth. The bat is trying to get in my mouth,'" she said.

This reminds me of that time when my wife tried giving me a blowjob while she was sleeping and was pissed when she woke up to it. I told her she was dreaming and I was a bat.

I had a dream once where a bat was flying around me and I covered my whole body with a blanket. A couple of days later, I noticed a dead bat tangled in my curtains.

If you would've stayed asleep it would've felt like more than a field mouse!

Note to self: Shave the bat immediately before taking it spelunking.

Edelman quickly researched what to do and learned that instead of killing the bat, she should try to catch it for rabies testing. Using a bucket from a recent beach trip, she successfully trapped the bat.

Do bats have to be alive to be tested for rabies?

I was watching a tv show where multiple bats were flying around and into main character who was a doctor, and I was wondering why no one mentioned getting the vaccine shots especially the doctor. I didn’t realize that there are no reported cases of bats in New Zealand having rabies.

It was covid 19 because it came in 2019, not because there were 18 other covid's before it. So it would be covid 26.

Used to play A lot of tennis back in the day. One night me and my buddy were playing next to 4 girls playing doubles. A bat started looping drunkenly on their court at eye level. They shite themselves and scattered screaming. We laughed.

That fricker got to our court and it was a very short overhead smash fest that I won.

I hope she enjoys that series of rabies shots. Because even if a bat is flying around in the room at night and you wake up, or it's tangled in your curtains dead as somebody said, you have to assume you've been scratched, and you have to have the whole rabies series.
