Agree.
Here's my problem with the beach Nazis:
If my LSU tent is in front of literally no one and the nearest person on each side is more than 50' away and I lower it at night how the eff is it bothering any damn body?
Those numbnuts will ride up on their 4-wheelers and sure as hell tag it though.

Depends on the location and situation. If the condo association owns the beach land, the owner of the condo has every right to set up on his property, unless otherwise specified by the HOA deeds. The only time this rule prohibiting setting up in front of the beach vendors takes affect is on public beaches.
The question then becomes does a renter have the same rights as an owner. I would assume this is something that would be addressed in a rental agreement.
As a beachfront property owner, I have the right to prohibit anyone setting up chairs, blankets etc on my property. My property extends to the water line, tide line, etc. So if someone wanted to place their chairs in front of my property in a foot of water, they have every legal right to do so.
So one could assume that even if the condo association has rules to prevent this, one could set up in front of the tents so as long as they are always in the water.

I don't believe this is the case... Someone went and dug up the law a few pages back.
They said it's 20' from the water line.

Public right of way is correct, but its not public property. Which means you cant stop and set up your couch for the weekend.

In Alabama, coastal property owners own land to the mean high tide line.
Under Alabama common law, coastal property owners may prevent people from gaining access to the shoreline of their land.

I've been to Destin three times this year and have had no problems. Just got back from there yesterday and had no problems. One row of beach set ups and no issues with fatties and their fatty stuff.

I've had this happen once. A couple set up chairs in front of us. I asked them to leave and they fussed at us a little. We suggested setting up in front of the empty chairs and they did. NBD
Orange Beach is super white trash though. They play white trash music loudly and set up tents in front of everyone. I'll never go back.

Yes the public owns the wet beach, water, below mean high tide line, etc. As I stated earlier, one could set up their chairs in the water and there is nothing anyone can do about it.
From the water, high tide line, etc to 20' (it may be less) this is private property but also a right of way. An owner cannot prevent passage, but they can prevent people from setting up their chairs, etc.

We stay at Sliver Shells, they have beach service plus a tiki bar on the beach. I do bring an ice chest for kids drinks and beer. We usually make a batch or two of some fruity drinks for the ladies.
Our kids are old enough they can carry their own boogie board and towels....they usually go down by themselves and we come down whenever we're ready with the beach bags, no big deal.
We rent the chairs for the whole week, I think it's like $100 a week for 2 chairs. It's def worth it.
