Witnessed two Beach Chair Rental confrontations this weekend

Just got back from spending the weekend at our condo in Destin. Twice over the weekend i witnessed a confrontation between the beach rental employees and non-complying beach goers. I have seen it multiple times over the past few years, but this weekend seemed to be worse than the norm. Not to mention, the offenders were from Louisiana. One guy was wearing a local forum tshirt (not tigerdroppings).
I understand you spent a lot of money to take your family to the beach, and you feel you should have the right to sit wherever you would like on the beach. I can assure you, that is not the case. The beach town governments have passed ordinances and whatnot to allow these beach rental companies to make money.
One of these rules prohibits setting up between rented beach chairs and the beach front. I don't necessarily agree with it, but if I want the first row seats, i have to abide by the rules.
I've purchased 2 sets of beach chairs and umbrellas, (for ungodly prices) and have to pay these silly companies to set up my stuff at $10/day per set.
The two different confrontations i witnessed this weekend included moms and dads making complete asses out of themselves in front of their children. Poor kids.
Anyways, made for some good entertainment as i sat back and enjoyed my ice cold michelob ultras in my overly priced beach chairs.
TLDR Non beach chair/umbrella renting poors lost their minds over not being able to set up in front of rented beach chairs.

what's the going rate down there? 20 Euro on the black beach in Santorini was the max for me, came with 3 nice wooden chairs and an umbrella, plus non-stop Weissebiers and fruity drinks for the wimmins(drinks extra, of course).

I remember when Gulf Shores and Orange Beach were great vacation spots. Overcrowded!
Destin used to be a great vacation place, they ruined that place too, overcrowded!
30 A is not far behind.
Traffic is terrible, beachgoers think they can set up and own the beach for a week, prices are outrageous now to rent.
I stay home now.

I see the argument both sides are making, but if I paid to use a beach chair and someone sets up a huge tent in front of me I'd be mad. If there's been rules passed addressing this issue then follow them or go to Gulf Shores.

Yes, they are permitted certain areas to operate their business. The question is, is it a city law or just a company law that says "no setting up between rented chairs and water"?
If it's not a city law on the books, then the chair guys are just trying to intimidate others into moving. I have a feeling it's the latter, but I have no true knowledge of the law.
Many times, it's not an issue of being poor. I've been plenty of times when all rental chairs were taken and I'm OT rich with 3 travel butlers.

The Beach Club(for fancy folks) and the Gulf Shores Plantation next door(for my people) are not crowded at all. Very secluded and family friendly.
There are lots of tents and chairs between rented chairs and beach. But it's private beach so i'm sure it's somewhere in the fine print of the Condo Rental Agreement.

Yea I thought this was gonna be in regards to randos sitting on the chairs without paying or something.
I've never had an issue setting up where I wanted around the paid chairs. I def woulda pushed back if they'd said something. Can you not walk in front of them? Can you not toss a football? It's not like they bought a ticket to a private beach.

Our house comes with 150ft of private beach. That's a little too close to the poors sometimes though.

is this actually law though? a lot of companies and condos try to pretend it is, in cities all along the coast when it isnt
ETA, it is not law, you have 20ft beyond the high tide line to do as you please

I'm sure it varies with the details based on the area and situation. In one instance this summer the resort we were staying at would set up the row of chairs a few feet from the high mark of the tide making it very crowded to even walk by. This was one of the more, if not the most, high end areas on the gulf coast. Also there were only so many chairs, so if they were already rent out, tough luck, no matter money or ownership.
I've also seen people just walk up and plop down in front of the front row chairs when the public beach area was about the same distance walk from the boardwalk - they just wanted to look like they stayed there rather than wanting to be close to the water.
So there's plenty of bullshite on both sides.
But I'd have to say overall the resorts seem to go overboard on the area they take up,
how they set up the chairs and the rules they try to enforce.
