I've honestly never experienced any of this. The only thing on the beach in front of our condo this the rental chairs and they are all set up in a row.

This is how it works at our condo. Owners can purchase their own custom chairs and umbrellas (roughly $800/set). The rental company keeps them stored in lockers. When I want them put out, i call and let them know what days to put them out. Like i said before it's $10/set/day.

At Phoenix West II in Orange Beach, lots of people set up in front of the chairs and I've never seen anyone say anything to them. Rentals there are $35 per day.

I was in Grayton over the weekend and I'll have to say this is the only beach i'm going,in the area, for now on. Unless you stay in the cabins in the national park you are going to fork over a few extra bucks to rent a house. IMO not having those skyrises keeps a lot of trash around the area. Seaside,down the street, has some nice beaches with less trash as well, too. Grayton to me seem more of an older and laid back crowd.

Each city/area grants permission/exclusive rights for a company to operate the rental chairs. In exchange, the chair company sweeps up seaweed and tries to maintain the beaches.
We rent our chairs on an annual basis so that they're always available to us and it's cheaper than continually renting per week if you use them enough.
No tents in front of marker set at some point (not high tide, but similiar I just don't remember the term) determined by the municipality. In OB, people without tents can setup in front of rentals. Tents have to be behind rentals because rentals are inside the marker post established by the municipality.

Most condos in Gulf shores state their own rule, that they do not want people putting pop-up tents between the rented chairs and the beach. Small chairs/umbrellas are ok in front of the rented chairs.
They dont want all the LSU pop-up tents blocking the view for the Gumps and vice versa, from the rented chairs.

Seems very reasonable. Tents can be obnoxious. I thought everyone knew you put those towards the dunes as a base and then put your chairs and whatnot closer to the water.

Agree. I love the Plantation. It's affordable, clean, and very kid-friendly. On site eats with a store is very handy if you need something and don't want to drive all way back to Rouses.(that's the key. stock up good when you coming in so you never go back that way. Then take the Ferry back).

Gotcha. never seen any confrontation where we go. I've done both, rented two chairs and put my tent over them, and I've also gone with the personal chairs under a tent. If people are respectful and don't post up 6 feet in front of you, I don't see what the problem is.

Agree, in whatever context. It's good to have them, reasonable size of course, esp if you have kids, but put that shite in the back area.

We had front row chairs and people set in front of us and others at Phoenix X couple of weekends ago. No one made a big deal of it. As the group in front of us was a bachelorette party that looked like a college volley ball team I had no complaints.

Well no one cares in OB or Gulf Shores becuse trash mixes well together.
