Those fields will be filled with marijuana plants in no time!! I read an article years ago that vineyards in California were worried that legal weed wound displace them.

Cal.politicians are poster children for stupid.Made mj legal and then tax it into oblivion.

What are you talking about? Just because there isn't a dispensary on every corner like there was 15 years ago doesn't mean it's been killed. The popularity and usage has leveled out. They have a completely different problem for not turning this vineyard into a grow op, Cali has a surplus of mary jane that due to fed regulations they can't sell to other states.

Most California wines that you can buy in the grocery today all taste pretty much the same because they're owned by big labels who make huge production blends.
I don't blame younger drinkers for staying away from wine when you often have to have to pay $50+ a bottle at a specialty store to maybe get any individuality or complexity.

I like CA wine, but definitely not all of it. The fruit bombs aren’t appealing to me.
There are some very good Cabernets that aren’t that, thankfully.
We usually go for Bordeaux (I like Left Bank ones) when dining out and getting a bottle. I like the earthiness.
