Ah yes, the it’s better now than before excuse when you aren’t even counting the same thing.

Easy to claim crime is not as bad now when you under report, refuse to charge criminals and eliminate petty theft as counting as a crime.

New Orleans has turned into a crap hole exactly because of people like Will Sutton that bail on the city to make their careers only to come back and claim how the people that stayed have no idea what they are talking about.

Crime is shitty everywhere else according to Sutton, so why are people complaining?

Some people really are pathetic idiots.

Good thing I’m not from there either. Both places are shite holes, if you ask me.

How do I take the other side of this bet? Someone could make a lot of money if they could figure out a way to short New Orleans.

Believe it or not, people feel the same way about Cenla. I have absolutely zero idea why anyone would want to raise a family in that place.

I was raised in Pineville. Lived in a subdivision and area that had about 20 kids my age within walking distance. We played sports, rode bikes and skateboards, hunted in the woods that separated our various neighborhoods, fished in the ponds nearby, camped out in the woods, didn't have to lock our doors, went to high school football games in the fall. Yeah, it really sucked.

People like you that make these kinds of condescending comments when you don't have a clue what you are talking about really pisses me off. It's your way or it sucks.

Anyone else betting on New Orleans?

Me. My wife and I just built a home in Old Metairie. That is where most of my family is, and it’s where I grew up. I would not have built in New Orleans itself, because I won’t go anywhere that I can’t count on the police or the juries. I’m 61 and looking forward to my final decades in the GNO area.

It’s laughable when people act like the entire state of Louisiana top to bottom is a shite hole like Nola.

There’s tons of Great places to raise kids and live. Smaller towns. Rural areas. Awesome qualities. If you have to be tied to a major city then don’t live in a state like Louisiana. If you’re ok with towns of 10K-40K being your hub, it’s a great place.

NO is a dump, but where are these "tons of great places?" Outside of the Northshore and some if the area around Lafayette I can't think of "tons."

I had a buddy text me he’s done. He’s looking to get out in October. He hates it there. The crime and left wing politics has done that city in.

You didn’t get what I said. I said smaller towns if you don’t have to be tied to a larger town like Lafayette.

Deridder
Farmerville
Kentwood
Morganza
RayVille
Columbia

Ok “tons” maybe not. There’s plenty more to be listed though.

I wouldn't call any of those "great" places, much less "good."

Coming from someone who lives here, New Orleans is obviously and inevitsbly becoming a bullet-ridden shithole.

Sounds like another Scoot. He'll get jumped and robbed and subsequently make apologies for the city.

For all the “never raise a family crowd”, we just moved to the city, and all my kids are grown. Am I good?

Also, my brother has raised his kids in Metairie and sent his kids to quality catholic schools, and everyone seems normal and are succeeding.

The city is expensive though. That part is a fact.
