Okay. I've known people that died on bicycles. Same with 4-wheelers. I've also known people that got fat and old and died blind and amputated from diabetes. Some life that is! Are you going to stop living because someone else died doing something they enjoyed? Are you afraid of death? I'd be more afraid of not experiencing life, because one day you're going to die, and having a mountain of regrets is a shameful way to go.

I’ve jumped out of airplanes in the Swiss Alps, dove off of cliffs in Greece, swam with Great Whites in South Africa, and countless other things that were calculated risks to my safety and/or life.

I don’t feel like my life is lacking in the least because I stay off of donorcycles.

To what though? A society without life skills, self confidence, riddled with social anxieties, and played a game about living life, but never actually lived one themselves outside of the shadow of fear mommy said would get them?


Lordy, if that’s living a life, I’d feel more than just cheated. I’d feel abused.

Correct.

Always found dirt bikes to be exceptionally obnoxious. Four wheelers and SxSs trend the same when “jacked up”’and modified with trashy exhaust systems and speaker systems. Probably helps explain why there are fewer places for enthusiasts to ride.

But I’m all for letting the kids thin themselves out through whatever Darwinesque hobby they choose. Remove the helmets and thin the herd.

No offense, i grew up with pictures of Farrah and Jacklyn Smith on my wall. If i went over to friend's house and he had pictures of dudes in his wall, I'd made a hasty exit.

This is the kind of logic that stops certain groups from swimming.
100% of the people that drown, went into the water.
100% of the shark attacks were from the same.

Therefore, just stay out of the water and you'll never drown, get stung by a jellyfish or munched on by any variety of water-borne creatures.

And just because you get a motorcycle, doesn't mean you throw all safety consciousness out the window. It's like just because I have a gun doesn't mean I am playing russian roulette.

Lots of things are potentially dangerous. It's knowing and assessing risk moment to moment that is how people don't all end up wounded or dead. I could go on for hours. There are numerous things that are very dangerous that we take for granted because we've become accustomed to them.

We lived on a dead end street with 200 acres of woods, highlines and pipelines at the end of it.

I rode the tires off a XR-75 as a youth.

We had 5-6 kids in the neighborhood who all had mini bikes, it was a glorious time of life.
