Why kids don’t ride motorcycles anymore

She nailed it. Dopamine addicted human slugs, and you could make this argument for almost every other outdoor activity I’d say, but motorcycles is glaringly obvious. As kids, we grew up with pictures of dirt bikes and motorcross heroes like Bob Hannah plastered on our bedroom walls that served as advertisements to ourselves and our parents what we wanted most in life at 12 years old. Today it’s a video game console or social media to scratch their itch, but it’s never actually ever scratched. It’s just a mind trick played upon an unsuspecting and easily manipulated target, kids, and the lesson is living life vicariously through someone or something else is safer and easier than living actual life where some form of risk is always involved.
