Similarly, it is by far one of the absolute worst things about NYC. We literally have trash cans at every corner. So frustrating and no area is immune to it, some areas are just worse than others.

No argument there. And it’s not a socioeconomic issue or a matter of upbringing. The utter lack of respect for “cleanliness” or maintenance is pervasive in this state. I don’t see it ever changing. Nor the states stereotype as a shithole.

Took my wife to Louisiana and she said that she thought the roads were cleaner than the SF Bay Area and she figured it had to do with the less amount of homeless

Littering is so disgusting. People who do it obviously have no pride in their state/country/community. It’s just a whole lot more convenient when you’re a fat frick to throw your trash out the car or leave it on the ground rather than waddling over to a trash can.

I just hired a kid, and on the first day I watched him throw a plastic wrapper on the ground while walking across the parking lot. After I told him to pick it up, I could tell that it was just a terrible habit he picked up at home. He thought nothing of it.

if i see someone litter i follow them and cut their tires and leave a note that says don't litter.

Hmmm, I beg to disagree on the socioeconomic thing...pull into the parking lot of any Dollar Tree and you’ll be shocked by the amount of trash. Like someone mentioned earlier, there’s trash cans are out there, but the customers and employees are too lazy to use them...

When your roads look like crap, shoulders haven't been graded and look like crap, ditches haven't been mowed and look like crap, then people are more likely to throw out their crap. Still not an excuse but, we have a lot of trashy people here in Louisiana.

I agree with you but I have different but similar beef. I live in Zachary and drive US61 and I110 to and from BTR. This is the major thoroughfare to the BTR Airport but also is the main route to the EBR Dump. The garbage trucks lose shite out the back as well as individuals towing trailers of debris to the dump.
Net result here is that this major artery of BTR that all visitors get to see looks like a third world country and it rarely gets cleaned up. The EBR parish should slap a levy on the waste disposal companies and keep crews cleaning this area up nonstop.
SWB needs to whip that jackass Kelvin Hill that she hired to run the DPW into some action...

It’s like living in a pig sty. Spend enough time in it and you don’t even realize you’re living in a pig sty and when people point it out, you get mad at them that they’re being mean.
Funny thing is, leave this region of the country and come back, and it hits you smack in the face, but don’t worry, soon enough it will be back to being normal again.
