Working under fluorescent lighting in front of a computer is like being in a goddamn Walmart all day and staring at your phone the whole time. I turn half of my office lights off and I'm not Gen Z.

This is an absolutely retarded way to think in your line of work

And I’m sure there are a million weird autistic habits that your boomer co-workers do as well.

WFH millennial here

Natural light coming in from the windows and a desk lamp is all that is needed.

I hate fluorescent lights and normally work with just light from my windows. I am an old boomer. I go to work early so I can get a couple hours without dealing with the phone. I leave when I want. I left the big firm life and the demands for ever more billable hours long ago.

They are smart enough to know that when they die their employer won’t give them a second thought

Your answer would be more in line with a government bureaucrat.

If you were an attorney and told me that, I’d fire you immediately.

So glad I left the billing life behind. Guys like Slippy are going to be in trouble within 3 years when their insurance clients are all using Claude to measure task time.

How daft can yall be?

I'm never going to tell my employer that. If I was that fed up, again, I'd start my own thing. I work for someone else because I have hobbies and other things that interest me. The trade-off is that I put in a solid 40 and I go home and live my life. I do things like watch football, cook, run, listen to music, watch movies, argue online, etc.

The issue with people that give 100% at W-2 jobs is that they are, in fact, losers who don't have the courage to go their own way. If you really are that capable and you want to work that hard, go do it yourself.

Gen X & I prefer it darker with dark mode screens if I am doing anything with a computer.

I work outside 90% of the time now so the bright lights and screens don't bother me like it used to

Only thing I suggest to folks is to get outside in the morning for the natural light and air as it is good for you

What about those who work in a cubicle in a room with no natural light?
