I keep most of my cash in SWVXX and sell/transfer into my Chase checking when needed. Only takes a business day. Have about 6 months worth of expenses in cash. About 3% of my NW.

does not = "rich"
Rich should be defined by your net worth. Your assets minus your liabilities. I'm willing to bet most of the people with high mortgage payments, car payments, spending like crazy, etc. don't have the highest net worth.
HHI and NW can correlate but not always. I know people making less than 150k HHI and have 1M+ NW's. All about saving/investing and living below your means.
"Rich" in today's society is anyone with over 5M NW, imo.

Is your iPhone updated to the newest OS? (26). I don't believe you'll get the full features until you update.
I read the wiki synopsis of the book this is based on. Typical man-hating garbage.
Was able to watch over the weekend. Fantastic movie. Probably my favorite of the year so far. Tense as all hell. Watched with some active noise cancelling headphones. When that IED went off about pissed my pants.
Been waiting for this to drop on HBO. Will be watching this weekend.

This is true. It never truly cools down here until after Halloween.

Correct. So effectively you can avoid CG as long as your income for the year is below these #'s. More so useful in retirement when you don't have another source of income.
A good reason to not sell in your taxable account until you are ready to retire. Use a HYSA or MM for any purchases in the meantime.
re: What are the top 2 brands of Bourbon you keep on hand?
Posted by Dav on 6/22/25 at 8:37 pm to Crappieman
Almost always have Buffalo Trace and Woodford Reserve Double Oaked on hand. Both are my go to's for an old fashioned.
I'm noticing more and more business are tacking on a 1-3% "fee" for using a CC so those cash back rewards likely negate themselves.

Just throw it into whatever MM your brokerage uses. I use Schwab and their MM is around 4.2% I believe. Can get access to your money within one business day.

Just got from off the spillway which was shut down. About 20 cop cars and search boats. One white SUV with temp plates on the shoulder. Looks like a few of them jumped off the bridge.
re: Remembering Louisiana's Most Beautiful Shopping Center: The Esplanade Mall
Posted by Dav on 5/15/25 at 10:55 am to boxcarbarney
I grew up in the Cannes Brulee subdivision which was right next to Esplanade. Spent so many summers in the late 90's/early 00's riding my bike to the mall and that crappy theater nearby (Hollywood Cinema). That theater is now a church and obviously the mall is dead.
Like others said, after Katrina is really when that area (and Kenner as a whole) declined. I could tell the "demographics" in my subdivision changing as I left for LSU in 2008 and has only gotten worse. My parents (kennabrah diehards) finally had enough and sold my childhood home a few years ago.

You can rent or buy it now on pretty much any major platform for $20. I believe HBO Max will be the first to stream it on subscription based platforms in a few months.

Anyone check this out on streaming yet? Curious how much of a downgrade it is vs theatrical experience. I think I missed the boat to go see this in theaters.
Saw them play in the PMAC in 2009 with the lesser half of OutKast.

This is how we did it. My first two were a boy/girl so the 3rd was the surprise tiebreaker (girl). Went ahead and got the snip about a year later

NOLA market gets it from time to time. Admittedly the hype has made it harder to find lately. Still easier to get than any non SR Weller.
