I look forwarded to reading at least 95 Theses in this thread about why one denomination is superior to the other...
Neither of these religions are considered the Chosen People's religion.

The early Catholic Church compiled the Bible. They wrote the New Testament and borrowed the Old Testament from Judaism. It’s not very smart to try to use the Bible against the organization that compiled it to begin with.
You’re an American right?
But you inherited a ton from John Locke, Isaac Newton, the Magna Carta, and so on.
Truth is Truth.
That’s how Protestants should view the Church prior to 1517. It’s still their church too. Since there was only one church until 1054 then any Christian today gets to lay claim to all of that history. Does not the same Spirit indwell every believer?

And by the way, as a Catholic, I just want you to know that this is what we believe too.

The original church that did all those things split in 1054 AD. So no, the Roman Catholic church is not responsible for writing or “compiling” the New Testament.
This is an excellent point, but our dear OP is being inconsistent.

Yes, but you also believe Mary is Jesus 2.0. She lives a sinless life, born without original sin, ascended to heaven. Just like Jesus... funny God sent his Son to showcase what is needed for us to be Saved as we cannot live a sinless life yet, his human mother could pull it off? No scripture to back that up.

Kenneth Copeland, noted Catholic basher, convinced me not to go to confession anymore or take communion. I believe Mr. Copeland’s net worth these days is in the $300 million range

What I’ve come to find out is there is an astounding amount of ignorance in this thread from both sides…. and for this site, that’s no small feat. Congrats guys.

Kenneth Copeland has no superiority over Protestants. We don't believe one to be more holy than another. If you are saved you are bought and paid for by Jesus Christ, no one comes close to be worthy of heaven without Jesus. We don't worship preachers, ministers like you would a saint or pope. They aren't anything but saved like us.

I don’t believe she’s the Queen of the Universe or mediatrix of grace, but other than that, why not just let the Mary stuff go? There are more pressing matters to pursue.

The Bible was put together by Roman politicians 400 years after Christ, then rewritten by English politicians 1200 years later.

You said that you can’t pray to dead people, and I pointed out that you don’t believe in the most ecumenical of creeds where the communion of saints is mentioned.
So, you can either allow that as a refutation or you can renounce quite a key component of Christianity.

Oh, my dear friend, I am certainly not arguing with you. When one has the truth, there is no need to argue with those that reject it. I was just asking a few questions and making a few observations, but not arguing. I believe each person needs to find the love of God on their own. Being a good example of a Christian man in real life (not the OT), is certainly something that might draw someone into Christianity, but not arguing and yelling.

The real answer is when the Church of England was created, it WAS the new Catholic church. So the later revs (Methodist, etc) are just the new versions of the Catholic church, if you believe that sort of thing
