Rapidly developing. Was largely socialist and state controlled economy for most of the 20th century after independence.

Like others have said, it’s the caste system. There’s no incentive to better you or you family’s life. The system won’t let you. So you’re relegated to making bricks out of shite.

Relatively speaking (relatively speaking being the key word here), India was one of the richest countries in the world for most of its history. Why do you think Columbus was trying to get to India, which he viewed as some kind of magical land?
However, the whole world in those days was extremely poor by today's standards.

Yeah, but the rivers flow from the north to the south. So its increasingly shittier the further south you go

India was invaded by the Islamic Mughals starting in the 1500s, and they ruled into the 20th century.
The last ruling Nizam of Hyderabad, who was a Mughal descendent, was in power up to Indian unification after WWII. The new Indian government kept him on a stipend for a while after that.
Side note: He was on the cover of Time magazine in the 1930s as the richest man in the world.

It's also why India is full of trash. People just toss their trash on the ground or throw it out a window because it's a lower caste's job to clean it up for you. That goes for every caste so Brahmins then it's the job of every other caste. For Kshatriyas it's the lower 3 groups job but not the Brahmins, etc...
Horribly backwards culture.

Alexander the Great conquered the whole world until he made it down to India and died a few days later of diarrhea

Empires like Mongolia or the Arab Caliphates expanded heavily through aggressive military conquest and external territorial control. India's immense wealth was largely self-sustaining due to its internal agricultural productivity and massive domestic market, meaning it didn't need to project aggressive military dominance outward to enrich itself.

They are incapable of moving on from the caste system. Hell, they brought that shite over here, which is why people are viewing them more critically lately. Especially when it comes to H1B sponsorship.

Don’t they also throw their dead in the river as well?
ETA: downvote it all you want, but if you look it up, you’ll discover that it’s quite common in India for dead people to be thrown in the river.
Deal with it.

the caste system
Several of the ones that made their way here still try to impose that on Western culture.
One obviously despised American blacks but it wasn’t racial as she didn’t have any issues with African blacks.
Nearest we could figure was she placed them at the bottom because they were “descended from slaves.”

This was also one of Gandhi's chief complaints with British rule. Despite being a hierarchical society themselves, they had no tolerance for the caste system and worked to abolish it. Gandhi was vehemently opposed to its opposition.
Anglo-Americans DGAF about this here. It doesn't carry water.

Yes, they are good little cubicle workers in Texas, that will work tedious technical jobs for a lower rate just to fill out dsld neighborhoods and sniff the American dream.

Some seem suicidal or completely broken, resigning themselves to having to go back. I enjoy telling them that if they're so fricking great, go home! Make your own country great since you seem to believe you're the answer to all the issues here. Be the answer THERE!
when you look at the country as a whole, its almost certain the intelligence of nations study that found it to be 76.4 is much closer to the real number

India isn't in the region that you just described. The Middle East, South Asia, and East Asia are distinct regions.
