Price trumps for a lot of folks. I will give credit where credit is due - Dodge trucks from say, 2011 or 2012 on are light years better than they were just 10 or 12 years ago.

Still not willing to take a chance, but that half ton diesel could get strong consideration from me (and everybody knows Dodge is literally last on my domestic list, and almost last across the board from a brand standpoint.)

I'm with you here. A few years ago I wouldn't have even considered Dodge. Now I'm open to the idea if the price is right. I still am concerned about reliability though.

I thought the 2000s look of the tundras looked good, until they bloated them out to get into the full size game

same goes for the 4runner

Because many truck people have this irrational attachment to a specific mfgr. Toyotas don't need replaced as open. Tundra is a much better product than a Ran

I was always an anti dodge guy. Even my 08 one at work is meh. But the new ones are much better. I still question their electronics though, specifically the AC.

So in other words Toyota can't grow its truck business out of its core group of followers.

if a tundra last twice as long it will have 1/2 the sales.

thats basic math

First time truck buyer: I considered what my dad had always driven for work (GMC for over 30 years). I was dead set on it. When I asked him about it he said for an everyday truck he would buy the Ram. I was shocked. More I researched by talking to long time truck guys, they are leaning toward Ram. After a few months, I can say the ride is much better than other trucks I have been in and I like the overall look and performance to this point in time. Still early but I like it so far. My brother just bought a Tundra last month so we will see who needs a new truck first.

does not compute. tundras don't sell because of brand loyalty, fleet sales, and they are woefully outdated compared to the competition at the moment. that's why sales are down year over year.

Isn't this the same reason the Taurus would beat out the Camry and Accord for most 'popular' sedan for a decade?

I need the OPie to clarify if this is individual consumer sales figures or all. It's scientifically indisputable that the Tundra is the best on the market. The rest are fricking dogshit except the F-150.
