Why are the Toyota Tundra's sales numbers so terrible?

Sales are -13% for this past month compared to February 2016. There were 7234 Tundras sold in the US last month which is a distant 5th place finish and is only better than the Nissan Titan. In fact, the Tundra is the only truck who has lower sales numbers in 2017 compared to 2016.
What gives? I read the Tundra is the best 1/2 ton truck on the market?

Price, baseline models are more expensive
ETA: The other question is, how do dodge rams out sell them even with the price?

Or because there are a lot less Tundra guys than the other types.

Price trumps for a lot of folks. I will give credit where credit is due - Dodge trucks from say, 2011 or 2012 on are light years better than they were just 10 or 12 years ago.
Still not willing to take a chance, but that half ton diesel could get strong consideration from me (and everybody knows Dodge is literally last on my domestic list, and almost last across the board from a brand standpoint.)

No one wants a shitty foreign "truck"

So in other words Toyota can't grow its truck business out of its core group of followers.

Tundra's are non-existent in the fleet sales market. That's a good bulk of truck sales.
Also little mark downs on Tundras.

Toyota will always lack behind US manufacturers in innovation and design, for the sake of reliability. They are pretty much making the same Tundra today that they were making in 2007. Sure, that gets them high on the list when reliability number come out, but I'd rather have new innovations on a new model vehicle; and so would most truck buyers.
Bottom line: Toyota's are boring.

Sounds like a good time to buy a tundra. Maybe they'll make a deal
