I’ll disagree because my car is somewhat loud and I’m very intelligent.

not sure, but it's consistent person to person. same with pit bull owners. they like the idea of selling themselves as something they aren't.

I don’t put exhaust on my cars because I want them to be quieter. I speed a lot on empty highways and the last thing I need is a cop hearing me and bringing attention upon myself. I admit a quality exhaust system sounds good on many cars, it doesn’t suit my driving style. Better for the car show guys. Hard to keep a modified car quiet though when you go “full” bolt ons/E85

More likely, maybe, but definitely not always. Some folks like performance vehicles that often have large, powerful internal combustion engines, which generate alot of sound, all because, well, you know, it's fun to go fast...

This formula also applies to fricktards who blast their music in public parking lots.

I've always wondered this, if anyone here can answer me.

I have a career where I'm often outside, often along a roadside with several other guys. We constantly have these idiots rolling by in something like a 90s Civic with a 4 banger and loud pipes that see a group of guys standing nearby, and decide to floor it to make that loud arse "angry bumble bee" sound. Happens all the time when we're on a roadside and someone has pipes, whether it be a squatted truck or a 4 banger rice burner.

First of all, what is it inside your brain that sees a bunch of males nearby and makes you want to make the loudest, shittiest exhaust noise possible? Do you think it sounds cool?

Second, do you never notice us all laughing? I'm not sure if it's just the guys I've worked around for years or if every group of guys react the same way, but I've never seen anyone react to that loud "BRRRRRRRRRRREEERRRRRRT" noise in any other way, other than laughing at the douchebag behind the wheel. Do y'all not see this group laughing at you, or is it just rare to be laughed at?

Every time one of these tools pass by I want to get into their headspace and study what they see, what they think comes off as "cool" or badass. Because if they really paid attention to the group of people they're flooring it for, they'd see them all laughing and saying something like "HA, what a douche!" to eachother

This is the correct answer in most cases.

What does the empty can rattles the most mean?

The phrase empty vessels make the most noise is an expression that means people who are noisy and talk the most about their opinions are often the most ignorant.

Way more jacked up trucks with loud mufflers down here in Florida than there was in Georgia. Most of them are white trash

Yep, I agree but it is mostly just complaining about stupid stuff that doesn't really matter so I let them go at it. Makes them feel better.
