I was drug to a wedding/honey-do shower a few months back. Never heard of one before this adventure.

If the scenario is brought up, it most likely for one of our friends in the circle. So all the guys go and just sit outside, watch the game, have some drinks. Once all the extra people leave, then you're with the normal friend group and you cook a sauce and drink more. Some of y'all act like the biggest hard asses for no reason.

You can say no, can't you?

If not what does that say about you?

Just tell them politely, but firmly “no”.

It’s that simple.

You're bragging that you were the only dad that put LSU football above your child? Congrats I guess

I've been dragged to a couples shower before. The same folks had a shower just for the women, a diaper party for just the dudes, and then a couples shower. It's all just excuses to end up with more gifts.

I put my foot down about this. We are not extorting our guests for our wedding. No money dance either. We had two engagement parties because our families reside primarily in two states but it was not a shower with gifts. Some people brought some anyway but it was maybe 5 or 6 for a 300 person guest count. It was a fun time and nobody had to triple up our gifts or anything like that.

Same people who do gender reveal parties.

FYI. I didn’t go to either of my wife’s baby showers. I showed up at the end, said some hello’s, and loaded up the gifts. There were no other men there. I’m 40 for reference.

The same people who think it is not incredibly tacky to have baby showers for each of their kids. A baby shower should be a one and done.

I went. I wanted to see all his buddies that we have known so long at their first school homecoming.

Now, those guys that go to the sites if upperclassmen, I ain’t sure parents should be there at all. They can drive.

I steadfastly refuse to go to baby showers. To me, that is no place for a man to be.

Oh, and frick off with all these stupid "Reveal Parties" by making a huge spectacle of whether the baby is a boy or girl.

I say this because somewhere along the line some groomer is going to try to convince them their sex at birth is irrelevant and they can be what they want to be.

I have never once been asked to attend a baby shower in all of my 35 years and 12 years of marriage.
