When you are young you are going to pick the larger cities...San Antonio/Austin/Dallas/ Houston.

When you are my age (about to hit 50) the correct answer is a nice town that is close to the city. Examples include New Braunfels/Canyon Lake/Gruene for Austin/San Antonio and Conroe/Bryan-College Station/Magnolia for Houston. Never lived in Dallas but I'm sure there are some great towns nearby.

The older I get the more I complain about the traffic/summers. I'm already bitching about the 90 degree weather here in Houston...God I miss summers in Montana (and that was 25 years ago)

Not saying it’s bad but why is that a good thing?

Magnolia for Houston.

I have 2 groups of friends that have moved to Magnolia in the last year. They are both about our age, late 40's. I don't talk finances with them but I bet real estate is fricking insanity there right now.

In the I 20 corridor and North of it you get ice storms in the winter and 90 degree temps at 10 PM in the summer.

You rarely get this south of Huntsville.

I live in the Montgomery County/Conroe/Woodlands/Spring area. We have all of the major Houston hospitals and we very seldom have to go into the hell known as Harris County

Port Aransas.

Anahuac.

The whole "we're full" schtick is usually done when it's actually a great place. No one in this thread is itching to move to Houston.

Aledo has no soul. It’s basically a bedroom community with top notch high school football for folks that work in Fort Worth.
