re: Any experiences with bypass surgery?

The day of my quadruple bypass I weighed 252. Three days later, had eaten very little, I weighed 275. That is how much fluid had built up in my body. They installed 3 drains to help get rid of it.

76 and a retired CPA. Never ever use a phone for banking. Protect your laptop at home, get a password manager like Robo Form Everywhere and only do your banking from your laptop.
Us old boomers still remember our home address and phone number growing up. Makes a damn good password. Or use your license plate

I am 76 and had the 4x cabbage surgery in February of this year. The worst part for me was the catheter. Because of the catheter, you will not be wearing drawers but you wear 2 gowns, one opening in front and the other in back. After surgery, 3-5 days in ICU followed by Tier 1 rehab clinic at Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands.
After the surgery, you will have difficulty swallowing from that tube down your throat. Your diet will consist of fresh fruit like pineapple and grapes, iced tea, pudding cups and all the ice cream you can try and get. Hot breakfast will be served cold, sausage looks gray and you will learn to love the prepackaged cereal. There will be a wheelchair in the room. Get up with their help and sit there while eating.
The heart surgeon wants to see fresh films every day. I was awakened every day ay 3:30 AM for x rays taken in the bed.
You will not be allowed to use your hands or arms to get up out of bed. They force you to cross your arms on your chest with that heart shaped pillow and get up using just your legs. This minimizes the risk of tearin stitches internally.
When they start with rehab, ask for a stand up walker. Much easier than the old style. Google it.
Check out Rooms To Go for a zero base stand up recliner that will put you up into a standing position. Look for the ones with 3 motors around $900. This is what you will sleep in for at least a month.
The hospital food sucks. Chicken tenders will need dipping sauce to help you swallow. Have your family bring you beef jerky and pop tarts for hunger issues.
The best part is you should lose 15 to 25 pounds. Good Luck to you

I am 76 and have had an unusual year. In January, diagnosed with prostate and bladder cancer. Had a fall in late January and it was a good thing as tests discovered a heart problem. Had quadruple bypass surgery in March. Recovered well. Yesterday had an outpatient procedure that took care of the bladder cancer for now. All that is left is to beat the prostate cancer and then enjoy LSU football. You must have a positive outlook. And yes, getting old sucks.

I watched that you tube video of LSU/Tennessee. UT used the single wing offense. That was worth watching. LSU defense was dominant. LSU missed a field goal and UT got a pick six. LSU recovered a fumble inside the UT 10 that allowed them to score a TD. The 2 point play was off of right tackle/end and away from the camera. You do see an official signaling that cannon was down around the one but it was not obvious.

So the driver tells the cops the car was on auto pilot when it crashed into the house and you claim it is fake news?

re: Who really killed Huey Long?

I just finished reading Killing the Kingfish by Jack McGuire. This author did a lot of research. He covers all the theories from Weiss punching Huey to the bodyguards shooting him to the exact timeline of the shooting. It is a book that is worth the price.
When Huey was shot, he turned and ran the other way from where Weiss was eventually shot. There were many eyewitness accounts as to his running BEFORE the bodyguards started shooting so it could not have been the bodyguards.

Those bulldozer attachments were the brainchild of Sgt Curtis Culin of 2nd Armored. They used the Czech hedgehog water defenses material to create the rhino tank.

Well you could draw a comparison to all of the GOP congress men and senators who brought their own kneepads when they knelt and kissed Trump's ring. Both sides have those followers who are incapable of independent thought and blindly follow the party leadership.
