“Where I stay” - easily one of my most hated phrases

To use the term “stay” to describe where you live is both trashy and ridiculously maddening to me. I can’t help but to just laugh at how stupid and trashy this sounds to me when I hear someone say it.
What are others that you hear someone say and it gives you the same feeling?

I prefer the ever high society "baby daddy", you can't hide class.

Can say I’ve never heard “where I stay“ referenced outside of (maybe) someone describing their hotel for the weekend.

Mostly in TH03’s head rent free but that’s another discussion for another thread.

Clearly, you have never heard an "educated" person say:
A-whole-nother
very unique/kind of unique
irregardless

I was sleep... or “she was sleep” ... my coworker did this the other day and it irked me so hard

I haven’t heard that reference since leaving Louisiana. I’m not sure if it’s just an old southern saying or if it’s trashy.
All the La people I used to hear say it were pretty trashy.

You might want to cut someone slack who says that because English probably isn’t their first language. Nobody refers to their permanent residence as “where they stay”. That expression implies some sort of temporary or conditional status.

Do you not stay where you live, albeit usually not long term?
“Where are you staying?”
“I’m staying in blah blah blah neighborhood”

What low-income neighborhood you stay at?

If you say the word "whilst" you're a f@g.

Wrong.
Urban types use this phrase all the time.
