re: I want to ship some King Cakes to Florida to some of my clients. Recommendations?
Posted by Fonzarelli on 2/21/25 at 12:29 pm
Honestly, I prefer the places that ship the icing separate. If your clients have younger kids, it’s a fun activity for them. But, aside from that, fedex/ups/usps do NOT care about protecting the king cake in the box, and when its pre-iced, it shows up beat to hell with the icing all over the bag it is packaged in inside of the shipping box, and just a huge mess .
That’s been my experience with a lot of them over the years. Just a counterpoint to consider — I agree with you on not giving someone a chore, but the mess that king cake may come in might defeat the entire purpose of shipping it in the first place!
I’ve never seen the cinnamon separated, I’ve only ever received them with a fully baked cake and icing/sprinkles/sanding sugar packed separate.

re: Trump, Elon and Rubio need a press conference to update on USAID

I don't think they need a press conference on anything. Someone else said on X (the everything app), but they are moving so fast with their agenda items that the left and media can't keep up. By the time they start harping on something OMB did, he's already done like 20 other things.
Just keep pushing forward.
Just keep pushing forward.

I suspect no news is good news in this situation

How can you say
If you are
what basis do you have? You don't watch?

there's a real possibility he could be the best dual QB to ever play in college and the NFL.

It's not a high position of need going into transfer portal season is what I was driving at

2 years of eligibility, not a lot of wear and tear. Big name recruit coming out of high school. LSU probably doesn't need more in the RB-room, and I doubt we have any real look at him, wonder where he goes
[EDIT: Can admin/mod move to LSU Recruiting? Wrong board on the rant. Thank you]

re: Ole Miss has 3,000 donors that give $100 / month for NIL - we have 300

I just logged in to donate, but I can't seem to find an option that makes it an automatic, monthly recurring draw. Am I missing something?

Dupree was from John Curtis not Catholic
Boy do I feel dumb. I've been hating on Catholic recruits for years because I've associated that softy with them.
Sorry for the internalized distrust, Catholic High Bears - that's on me!

Is Shelton Sampson becoming Malachi Dupre? Both were about 6'3-6'4 and 190 coming out of Catholic High as 5 stars
What's the deal
[EDIT: NOTE - I HAVE BEEN CORRECTED, MALACHI WENT TO CURTIS. AS I NOTE IN A POST BELOW, I HAVE HELD AN INTERNALIZED DISTRUST AGAINST CATHOLIC HIGH RECRUITS EVER SINCE MALACHI DEPARTED, SORRY BEARS! :banghead: ]

re: I wouldn’t be shocked if BK gives up at this point

I feel differently. Brian Kelly went 4-6 in 2016 at Notre Dame. He then went on to bounce back to 10-3 and 12-1 in 17-18. He kicked it into gear, and I expect him to do the same here.
re: Bills v Lions would be the best matchup in the SB for the city of New Orleans, right?

Both fan bases would literally burn the city down

re: Question about the first CFB playoff bracket that comes out Nov 5.
Posted by Fonzarelli on 10/21/24 at 1:58 pm
Pure speculation here, but i think they just rank the teams 1-25.
The way the seeding works is that the top 4 highest ranked conference champions have a bye.
So they aren't releasing a bracket, just the rankings. Then folks can tweak it to a bracket based on whatever they want (predicted endings, if it ended today, etc.)
