While it sounds moronic to me as well, I think it’s important to note how arbitrary it is. There’s nothing objectively better about saying you “live” somewhere. You live everywhere you happen to be at any given time. Describing where you usually sleep at night as where you live is nothing more than habit.

I find it more accurate than saying "where I live". I do the majority of my living outside of my home, and since I don't own a house my home is really only temporary anyway

It’s funny how language sometimes loses its roots and morphs into something else.

Thee and thou were considered informal/familiar while ye/you were formal. Now thee and thou are most commonly used to mockingly make a statement sound more formal.

I know no one gives a shite. I’ll see myself out

“No cap” is easily the worst phrase I’ve ever heard in my life.

Gen-X and proud.

I’ve just a respect for language and not sounding like an idiot.

Sad too. Like getting looked at funny when you say "he/him" when not sure of the gender of the person you are speaking about. Or all the he/she bs. I gave up, and just write/say "he". Tired of the bs. Especially with all the gender crap making it harder to know what is right or wrong to these snowflakes.

Funny watching older people, that were taught proper english, on tv that have to pause to make sure they say he/she. Will only get worse.

You realize that English is in the minority of languages in not having gender neutral pronouns, right? He/him has never really been accepted as anything other than gender exclusive. The closest we have is "they", which is clunky as hell being it's both singular and plural.
